Nice story for kids

Very high quality book. Kids love it.

my daughter's favourite book. It is also very nice to touch. And the text is really good. But what else would you expect from Julia Donaldson.

This book was one of many my daughter got for her 2 year birthday. Out of about 10 other books this has to be her favourite! She always asks for this and we read it everyday at meal time. She loves that all the sea creatures come to watch the ‘singing mermaid’. She doesn’t like Sam Sly and makes an angry noise when he won’t let her go out of the fish tank and cheers when she escapes. The illustrations are magnificent. The storyline, rhyming and everything else is just magical for a child’s cognitive development. Up there with what the ladybird heard.

Purchased for my three year old daughter who's gotten a little obsessed with mermaids (she'll often be found on the arm chair singing songs from the little mermaid). She LOVED the book and wanted it read to her over and over again (as to be expected). Always loved the quality of these books, nice little textures found on every page, and the writing and humour is always appreciated as a parent.

We find that the story is less interesting than some of Julia Donaldson’s more famous works. Also, the product description mentions that there are glittery/sparkly bits on the pages but not definitely on the version we received so a bit disappointed.

Julia Donaldson books are the best. I brought this one cos my little girl loves mermaids and she loved it. It’s a fav for the bed time read and she loves the glitter used within the illustration. Lovely book

Love this book, really well written and has a lovely rhyming flow. My 3 year old loves this book and likes to feel the glittery and embossed textures throughout the whole book. It is a regularly picked booked at story time. Would definitely buy as a present, recommend and/or buy again!
