Good quality of book for a great read
Soul stirring right from the beginning to the end..An honest book of a writer and traveller infused with earnestness, empathy and passion for people from all over the world. Unpretentious, real and humbling - Simon Reeves's stories are as real as it can get while he talks of problems surrounding wildlife, governments and the inconceivable plight of people across Kazakhstan, Congo, Somaliland and countless other places which have been long forgotten by the West. His personal experience with depression, his childhood in Acton and his travel journeys are all deeply moving and leaves the reader in deep thought. Totally recommended.

Fully recommend this book
Excellent book. Simon Reeve doesn’t pull any punches. Meteoric and amazing climb to his current career as a first class travel documentary maker.

Simon puts you in his shoes with this book. Definitely a must-read.
Love the book! Clear & honest. His writing makes you feel like you're there next to him while the events happened. That itself is a gift for his readers. How he's still alive, God knows. To more years ahead. This world needs much more people like him especially now. This book is meant for anyone and everyone.

Book, paperback version…….
……just started reading. From watching Simon Reeve’s adventures and travels in the BBC, I became interested in his approach of reporting, and his interactions with local people wherever he visits. He observes and discusses with those same people, respectfully and comes away identifying issues that have no easy answers. He raises the motivations of political will, the lack of, the poverty impositions, the unknown futures. His book, starts with him being very ill, and thinking Ebola. His travels taking him far from any kind of professional medical help.Simon then writes about his childhood and teen years, his parents, their work and jobs, and his brother, “partner in crime”.His writing sounds like Simon, eg I can hear his voice reading it out aloud.Read this book to gain insight into this adventurer, social commentator, and his spontaneity with peoples from around the world. There is a reserve and wisdom in his TV programmes, and an honesty in this book, too,
