Expensive but worth it
You use them (sparingly) along with the regular gas fireplace embers. It makes embers brighter and looks great in my fireplace. Follow directions on the package.

Catalyst for Peacock Giant handwarmer.
Was impressed with the heat generated.Uses fuel faster but who cares I bought the handwarmer to stay warm.Bag should last a life time making it far more economical than purchasing new catalysts from the original vendor.Works with all handwarmers similar to Hakkin Peacock and Zippo.Tutorials on the internet on how to replace.

Nice material but not in promised quantity - 20% less in the bag
I've bought the catalyt wool as a replacement or tuning material for the burner in pocket warmers. The function is given, it works good so far. But unfortunately, there are only 4g in the bag instead of the stated 5g. That is 20% less than I paid for!

As with other reviewers I have purchased this for replacing the catalyst material for my handwarmers. A massive saving using this compared to buying individual catalyst heads.

Wise purchase
Given the cost of replacement gauze's for pocket warmers, this is a lifetime supply of material which I can use to re-pack the heads as needed. There is so much that I have now include this bag of platinized wool in my will, for generations to enjoy. Should also hold its value on the precious metal market.
