Canon CLI-42PC Ink Cartridge, Photo Cyan

As I have reviewed before, buying clones of inkjet cartidges is just not worth it if you are looking for the best possible quality. Same goes with the choice of papers: cheap = reduced quality. Fine for printing out correspondence and archive stuff, but not for art. I am selling giclée watercolour prints on Etsy (InkaArtsStudio), as well as restoring and printing old aviation photographs (Classic Machine Films), and I really need the best quality possible. These inks give me that, although it's at a premium. A very good friend - a former senior exec (director level) in one of the big printer companies (not Canon!) - called it The Great Ink Scandal. There really is no reason why these cartridges should cost as much as they do. But you can't argue the quality, and they know that.UPDATE NOV 2021 - Disappointed to note that the price for this single cartridge has now risen by £2 to over £13. Again, you can't beat the quality, but the price is getting silly. No, not silly - gouging.

These original canon cartridges are expensive but their print quality is excellent.

...if you buy this for your Pro10 S. It doesn't specify - just says Black. Foolishly, I didn't think to check. I wanted Matte Black, and this had come up in a search. The printer immediately said that I had two inks of the same colour, which turned out to be Photo Black.

annoying how expensive such a small amount of ink is! however it is flawless and gives excellent prints each time. It also annoys me how much ink is still in the reservoir once it is classed as empty by the printer. but oh well, that's life i guess.
