Good quality, good fit!
This is a good quality bone nut that is nearly a perfect fit for an imported Tele style guitar that I’m in the process of upgrading. In my 50+ years of playing and repairing guitars, I have rarely put a pre-slotted nut in without having to do some level of sanding and/or filing on it. Not the case with these Musiclily bone nuts. These nuts fit perfectly in the nut slot and are exactly the right length. The string spacing is identical to the existing nut. They are slightly shorter in height than the existing nut but the slots are not cut as deep so the strings are sitting at just the right height. This was a quick and easy replacement with no adjustments required. The pic shows one of the new bone nuts installed in the guitar and the other lined up against the plastic nut I replaced for comparison. The guitar sounds great and plays well. The sustain issues I had with a couple of open strings are resolved. These Musiclily bone nuts are a good value.

Consistent bone, low price
This is a copy of Tusq 5000-00 but it's bone so it is 1/4 the price and sounds better and you don't inhale plastic when cutting it. You inhale the essence of the beast. The diagram is dumb, it shows 35.5 mm E to E but it's the outside of the slots. Standard measurement for string spacing is from the center of the slots. So it is 35.1 just like the Tusq it's based on. It's a perfect width for a Charvel. The stock Tusq for those is about 35.3 which puts the string a little too close to the edge 35.1 is better for that but it still feels like it's extra wide, as most 43mm aftermarket nuts are 35.0. I also think the pre-cut slot radius greater than 9.5 which is good because that's how it's supposed to be in the end if you've done a good job. Any competent manufacturer would do this instead of matching 9.5 exactly. Tusq does that and it's just dumb. I just wish they'd omit the stupid center nub that adapts the nut to a flat slot. NOBODY would ever buy a new nut just to have it not sitting flush on the floor of the slot. Another thing Tusq does wrong.

High Quality Nut, Will Require Some Radius Work
This is a nice, high quality nut. The string grooves are well made and don't snag the string. One thing to note is the radius of the bottom edge is 9.5 inches, whereas the radius on the top is 12 inches. This means the strings will be too high when you fret them, especially the outer strings. So you will need a set of nut files to lower the grooves, and then some files or sandpaper to finish it off. Because of the dissimilar radii, you will not be able to sand from the bottom to lower it.

Import-spec nut. Fits Squier Strat, too narrow for American Strat
This nut fits my Squier/China-made Strat correctly, and the string spacing matches the original nut on that guitar. However, this 42 mm nut is too narrow for an American Strat. American Stratocasters use a wider nut and wider string spacing than this part. On my Squier Strat, the nut required a small shim (about two layers of paper) to achieve proper nut height and eliminate open-string buzz. After shimming, it plays well and first-position chords are comfortable. If you’re buying this for a Squier or China-made Strat-style guitar, it should be a good fit with normal setup work. If you’re buying it for a USA Strat, you’ll need a wider nut than this. The listing does not clearly distinguish between import and USA specifications, so measuring before ordering is important.

Excellent quality bone nuts
This bone nut worked great for me. I used to get the unbleached nuts from another seller but I didn’t like the color. It blended into the maple fingerboard too easily so I bought these, which I think stand out a bit more. It took to my nut slot files very well, sanded down, and polished to a high gloss shine. It was the perfect size being just a smidge larger in both directions, which allowed me to custom fit it to a snug fit into my guitar’s slot with just a few swipes of sandpaper. Overall it worked great, looks great, and most importantly sounds great.

Not thick enough to fill a standard nut slot.
These bone guitar nuts were the correct width as advertised, but they don't measure up to a standard acoustic guitar nut thickness. I compared them to several old guitar nuts I have and none were as thin as these. The problem is they don't fill the entire nut slot. So, not wanting an empty gap in part of the nut slot, I didn't use these nuts. It's too bad, because other than the skimping on the thickness, they seemed well formed, made from decent enough material (for the price) and the string slots appeared to be spaced properly.

Unfortunately Made in China
Didn't know these were made in China. Just a personal preference not to buy anything from China if I can help it, and would gladly pay extra for something made in the EU instead. My fault for not asking prior to purchase but There are 2 nuts in the package, plus one guitar pick. I'm just really disappointed these things come from China, because who knows what they actually are made of (dog bones? some radioactive material?). 2 Stars because of the China thing. 5 Start if these were made in the EU instead.

Backup and store them in your case until you need them
Great start to replace your nut on a strat. They might work but I want them a little lower. Measure and make sure you order the correct size. ... There was a gift, a plectrum and trying it..I say thanks. Smooth shape, nice material that makes the grip better.
