Powerful Book for Boxers, Photographers and the interested rest of us - not for kids though
Exceptional book about an exceptional boxer told through the eyes of an exceptional photographer with the arresting art of an exceptional graphic comic illustrator. This book is just one amazing adventure back into those eight rounds in Kinshasa in 1974 watched at the time by a billion people. A different world, a different man and an incredible revelation about winning against the odds. This is not a comic book exactly. This is not a graphic novel. But it is a amazing story amazingly told. A must read. But beware: this is not for children. There are tough and conflicted moral messages throughout which are difficult to communicate to younger children. And be aware that if children find it lying around I promise it will be something they will not be able to put down.

It said Clay/Ali never showed up for the induction ceremony, he did!

An Unworthy Effort That Begs The Question: Why?
A strange book that contributes very little to the legacy of a notorious global sporting event. For reasons I cannot fathom—other than the misguided goal of self-enrichment—the authors use the comic book to overcome the lack of access to better media formats. This is disheartening enough, but worse is their belief that they are part of the story. As such it is more their story—their witness—to the event. But they are witness to so little that the book is a single-episode bathroom read at best. Nothing of substance that you don’t already know. The movie is the best of all tellings, and far less expensive to boot.
