I worked for Cisco systems myself back in the early 2000s and this don’t make my bias person this give to me the opportunity to give an educated opinion.Easy setup we can say just plug and play, size is normal for the number of ports, the build quality is metal, recommended for beginners or people who just want the thing done quick and easy. Great value.

This replaced a less expensive gigabit switch that had dropped to a 100-megabit connection on one port. All the ports on this one appear to work correctly, and it appears to have no problem actually transmitting at a gigabit/second. For my application the only drawback is that the status lights are on the back of the box, with the ports, which means I have to walk around a set of shelves to see them. The previous switch had the lights on the opposite face of the box from the ports, which made them visible to me when I'm at the computer. That's an extremely minor inconvenience.

Cisco unmanaged switch. Put it in. Plug it in. Forget it. They go for years.

Simple and reliable switch from a well known brand. I usually use lower cost items from competitors for non-critical deployments, but this low cost Cisco switch is a great choice for more mission critical / secure environments.
