These are amazingly good
THese are amazingly good. I am pretty sure they use the Avnera technology, I dont think there is anything else out there that it could be. I use them to listen to music and to make skype calls - works great for both, no switching back and forth, it just works. Music is spectacular since it's full spectrum 20Hz-20KHz, and (since I think this is Avnera) no lossy compression like bluetooth etc that messes up the music experience. It certainly sounds like they are lossless.Skype calls are very clear, the equivalent to a wired headset. Range is very good, better than they claim, I have walked 50 feet away from my PC and still had a perfect connection through walls and doors, which is nice. No interference from/with wifi or bluetooth as near as I can tell.Installation was nice - I plugged in the usb dongle, and that was it. Vista switched me over so that was my default audio device. Literally no software, no hassling with settings, etc - they just worked right out of the box.I think my only complaint is that sometimes the battery doesnt last the full day with continuous use. But that's a fairly minor issue to me since it's rare that I have them on for 8+ hours straight, usually I plug them in to charge at lunch or when I go to a meeting.

Great Product from a Great Company
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------UPDATE: The review below is for my first headset, I have since received a replacement one and that one ALSO failed with the exact same problem after less than a year of use. I am very careful with this product, I've been treating it like it's made out of glass and the left earphone STILL failed after less than a year. I am very disappointed with this product after all since I've now owned two and it's clear this is a problem with the design and not a particular unit.Logitech no longer makes this headset, so be aware of that. This 2nd time they offered me to replace it with an H760 but that is a significantly inferior product so I told them I felt their offer was unfair and they agreed to refund me my money without any hassle. I still endorse Logitech as a company that stands by its products, even the defective ones; so much so that I am using the refund towards a Logitech G930 Headset.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After about a year of owning this headset, the left earphone started shorting out now and again and I would lose sound on that side of the headset which is very annoying and distracting. I called Logitech Customer Service to file a warranty claim and they could not have possibly been more helpful. They made me troubleshoot it a little bit as it's expected over the phone with them, but after a 20 minute phone call (Part of the length of the call was my fault) they agreed to send me a replacement hassle free.PROS:- COMFORT: VERY Comfortable. I have an average head and I use this headset 4-6 hours at a time and it is only after about 2-3 hours that I start noticing it's there, but it never actually bothers me. The earphones themselves are cushioned and feel great on your ears. They also do a fantastic job of blocking outside noise, once I put this headset on I hear nothing but my games, music, movies or Skype.- MICROPHONE: Clear and does a great job of removing room noise. Sometimes I'll have my fiancée speaking on the phone next to me and the people I'm talking to can't hear her.- INSTALLATION: Just plug it in and Windows picks it up right away.- DISTANCE: Works fine up to 20+ feet; it's only after 30 feet or so and a few walls in between that it starts losing the signal.- CONTROLS: It's very easy to mute your microphone, raise and lower the volume, etc.AVERAGE:- BATTERY LIFE: It could be better; I easily get about 4 hours on average; however you can use it and charge it at the same time and the cord when plugged into the power is no different than a cord on a wired headset so I don't mind. I use it without the cord about 75% of the time and the other 25% I plug it in because the battery has completely drained.CONS:- BUILD: It feels very sturdy and the materials feel very high quality. The only problem is the earphone; each earphone pivots to make it more comfortable on your ears, but the caviat is that the left one (The one with the microphone) has started failing after about a year; I have heard other people having a similar issue. Logitech was great at honoring my 2 year warranty though.- INTERFERENCE: This might not be the product's fault but the fact that I have a lot of electronics and always one or two cell phones close by; but every 20-30 minutes the sound will scramble up and I get an electronic sounding noise (Think a satellite signal when it's really cloudy); it always fixes itself but sometimes it's a little annoying.OVERALL:- I can't recommend this headset anymore, so far I have owned two and they each had the exact same problem after less than a year of use.

Using the Logitech Clearchat wireless USB headphones
As a professional in the Software industry I am on the phone constantly and use SKYPE to talk all over the world pretty much 24 hours a day. I have tried many many blue tooth headsets as I also use my cell phone a lot but have never been happy with any blue tooth solutions that I have found. I still use blue tooth on my cell phone but I have given up using it on my mac and PC. The two biggest complaints that I had was the blue tooth driver crashing my system (even my MAC) and almost every time I wanted to use it I had to go through some kind of setup it was just too annoying. And blue tooth is just impossible for me to watch video with as the audio is always out of sync with the video.I have been using this headset for two months now.ProsWith the USB headset it just works on all of my computers. I use Mac OS, Linux and Windows and have had no issues with any of these. There is no audio lag when watching videos and very few people can tell that I am using SKYPE. Once you go through the setup it just continues working. On my MAC I can direct SKYPE to use the wireless headsets while Itunes uses my external speakers. I can walk around my house upstairs and downstairs and out on my patio and still have a high quality connection. You can adjust the volume from the headset which is great. Very comfortable for all day wearing if you need to. You can mute the mic by swinging it up and a red light goes on to alert you that you are on mute. To unmute it just swing it back down.ConsThe longest operating time I have seen on the batteries is 4 hours (yes some of my meetings are even longer than 4 hours). But you can continue to use the headset even when it is charging so that is not too big a deal. I do miss the capability of being able to pick up calls from the headset (like you can on blue tooth) and disconnect calls. (There might be a way but I haven't found it yet). For listening to music/videos I still prefer my Sony professional wired headphones but these are certainly good enough for phone calls and are the best sounding wireless headphone/headset that I have experienced so far.In summary I will never go back to bluetooth for my laptops and desktops.
