Fanstastic little gadget!
In my living room I have a PS3 console hooked up to a mixer which is then hooked up to some powered monitors. This way I can watch Netflix streaming and DVD's/Blu-ray discs with a nice loud sound as our HDTV has fairly weak speakers. Although the sound is magnificent I was always bothered by this buzzing noise that came out of the speakers and was present throughout the movies. I tried using the more expensive surge protectors in hopes that the noise would disappear or at least be less obvious, but it did not work. Doing a little bit of Googling I learned others had the same issue with the buzzing sound. I took a chance and ordered this gadget. Now it is not the cheapest thing on the market, but some of the cheaper solutions had mixed reviews. I can now state that I am very glad that I took a chance, because I hooked this gadget up and the buzzing noise is completely GONE! It is so quiet that when nothing is playing it seems as if I didn't even turn on the monitors. Hook-up is ridiculously easy as you plug in the source of the sound into the "IN" side (left) and plug in the output of the sound into the "OUT" side (right). Now I can enjoy a nice rich sound with my movies. Highly recommended.

Not usable
I used several of these to isolate the ground on laptop audio outputs (mostly Mac PowerBooks) from the ground on the video outputs (routed to projectors, usually adapting to VGA on the way). This combination frequently produces ground-loop hum, even when that systems are properly set up and grounded. These transformers cannot handle the laptop audio outputs if they are turned up all the way and the signal is pretty hot. Mostly, they just distort under these conditions, but I recently had one self-destruct (internally) and just turn into a permanent distortion generator--completely unusable. I'm now shopping for an alternative brand which can actually handle the use I need them for.

Did not fix my ground loop problem, I used ...
Did not fix my ground loop problem, I used on my RCA cable to my sub woofer and did not do the job.

it will not take hum out of the audio it will keep the hum out of the audio
it removed 100% of the hum, I have been running this on my ham radio gear with the mbox mini and protools 8 for 3 years, on 1 channel mono of course, this is directional ,note the little triangles direction, I found out after I had a little noise /hiss that completely went away when put in the correct direction ,probably overkill for what im doing but the cheap ones didnt cut the noise completely and effected audio quality ,and was keeping me off the air with HIFI audio so I paid the price and worked out great

Did not solve problem. Hum increased

Expensive, but it works.
I've had some crazy noise issues that I've been struggling to fix. I've upgraded power strips, I've used a UPS system, I've installed chokes, and nothing was fixing it. My computer runs into a Schiit Modi DAC. The output of that runs into this transformer, which then runs into a Schiit Lyr amp. Noise is GONE. Few things make me happier than when I finally fix a problem like this. Despite the cost, if I ever run into noise issues in unbalanced lines again, this will be my first fix applied from here on out.

So simple its Brilliant!
Absolutely clean signal from computer audio card to amp and monitors. Eliminates the sounds of computer ground loops and any noise caused by fans or hard drive action. Works as both a ground isolater and hum eliminater. So simple its Brilliant !

Had ground loop hum. Now I don't
Device is high quality and works EXACTLY as described. Seems a little pricey, but that is the "I dont know anything about electronics tax"
