I fancied trying these out, and I’m glad I did, as they’re really fun to use and supremely versatile.The pencils themselves are slightly chunkier than the standard graphite range, with a fatter core.In application they feel as smooth as normal graphite with no grittiness or powdering.The magic happens when you apply water - suddenly you have a whole new world. Atmospheric monochrome paintings, creative sketching, or under paintings for watercolour or watercolour pencils - the limit is your imagination.For the sake of less than £2 a pencil, they’re worth having.

I am delighted with these pencils, they come in a tin so you can keep them altogether.Firstly I have to say I am not an artist, I have recently taken up art after many years and I am experimenting with different mediums.These pencils can be used as a normal pencil or as watercolour pencils and the effects are very good.I have uploaded a couple of drawings. Both of them had several layers of watercolour and then highlights added with just pencil.I found it easier to start with the lightest shade first and then got darker as I went along. They create a very nice wash which you can see on the eagle picture.If you haven’t tried these pencils yet I would recommend giving them a go.

2B lead was missing for quite a way down. Therefore I am beginning with a pencil considerably shorter than the rest. Annoying. A satisfactory agreement has been arranged though.

Lovely pencils for drawing, brilliant density on the 4b 6b and 8b, love them.
