Great battery tester, so far. I was using a volt ohm meter and an older battery tester, load tester and voltmeter combo.The BT-705 battery analyzer is a perfect replacement. The Foxwell BT 705 Battery Tester is one of the best options for DIY mechanics or professionals. Money well spent so much that I am going to get a second one. I saw this used in project farms video where he was trying to salvage old batteries and allowed him to check the overall health of the battery. This did exactly what I needed with no nonsense and relative ease of use. It let me know the health of a battery that was in question which was not in good health at all. As a bonus it confirmed the alternator was putting out good voltage and was healthy. What a relief to know I didn't need to spend almost 400 bucks on an oem alternator for a specific Japanese auto brand and just needed a $200 quality battery to solve the issue.

This tester was purchased to help eliminate battery issues in auto and RV. Having both AC/DC power on board is occasionally a question of battery failure, converter issues, wiring problems or a combination of all. Eliminateing a battery problem with several on-board adds to lots of possibilities to sort through. This tester quickly helps identify or eliminate a battery issue. Easy to follow instructions and direct read results may eliminate battery purchase. Saving time and money is a good thing, my first test saved buying a new big RV battery.

This is a phenomenal tester! Easy to use step by step instructions. Get the same determination from the big auto stores when I take a battery in for a second opinion.

Does the job. Fairly compact

Like some of the other negative reviews, I'd like to report that I too get random 36 volt readings, some 18 volt readings, and the classic "loop back" when I follow the prompts but, instead of performing the test, the menu restarts from the beginning. Not always, just enough times to be annoying. All this means is that I don't know whether I can trust this instrument when it goes through the test sequence and spits out its evaluation.Note that there is no apparent explanation for this behavior in the manual, so the user is left to wonder what's going on. Also, there is no useful info on the web that I can find and I have no intention to email some Chinese person and be told to check the connections. By the way, I checked the connections a million times, it's not that. In fact, a much cheaper battery tester was able to go through the testing sequence without any problems with the clips piggy-backed to the Foxwell clips. Proof positive that it's not the connections, it's the Foxwell batty battery tester.None of these complaints are unique or new. Other reviewers have pointed then out long before I did.Which means that Foxwell knows about them, or at least SHOULD know about them, and is doing absolutely nothing to fix the problem.Rhetorical question: does a company like that deserve more than one star?

Cable long enough. Tell you voltage and battery life. It functions well. Good value.
