I love the new replacement screen. But there aren’t any instructions included the the package. If you look hard enough, you will find some text on a box that says, “You can fix it. We show you how. Find everything you need in iFixit.com” Suggestion #1 is to put a QR code on the box that takes you to the page or video for the phone being worked on. Next, the video only shows you how to disassemble your existing phone. But there doesn’t seem to be a video for reassembling with the new parts. The video actually says at the end, “Follow the steps in this video in reverse order to reassemble.” This is not helpful at all. We need to be guided through reassembling just as much as disassembling. Suggestion #2 is to have a complete video that shows how to reassemble. I finally ended up going in YouTube and watching somebody else’s tutorial and got it working. First-time DIY can be stressful. But all of this adds a lot of unneeded stress. On the positive side, they included a few extra parts (like a new front facing camera) which eliminated some steps. And the screen really looks nice.

UPDATE 11/19: Contacted iFixit and the first customer service rep to respond was unhelpful so I wrote them again asking the same question. An actual proficient rep sent a replacement screen but it was still a dud with the protruding home button. At least they were sort of proactive in attempt to remedy the situation. Still stuck without a phone screen replacement of the original dead screen though!! ORIGINAL REVIEW 9/17: Almost everything fits. Home button transferred properly - and checked three times - but it does not sit flush with the screen!!! Very frustrating. Added a bunch of wasted time to the afternoon. iFixit and practically everywhere else say the 5S and SE 1st gen screens are completely interchangeable. Absolutely NOT the case here. I am left to decide whether to return it and get a cheaper screen elsewhere or be stuck with a screen which may actually DAMAGE the now protruding glass home button. Have emailed their customer service, will update upon response. Very disappointed as of writing this.

Not the easiest, and I don’t think the screen is worth the mark up….but you’ll be happy.
