Peach Couture Womens Renaissance Vintage Smocked Gypsy Tank Dress

I bought this dress in the 5 button white style; it is a very lightweight 100% cotton material, but it has a full length also 100% cotton built in slip. The top is also lined plus the embroidery with the tiny pearl beads. It is beautiful, and I am trying to buy another one because it also works great as a petticoat under full skirts and white goes with almost every color I have. It is very cool and versatile. If you are more modest, you can wear it with an additional chemise type top underneath - which I have done - the kind with the built in shelf-bra liner, and they don't show through, either, unless you wear a colored one. Did I say I LOVE this little white dress, which can also be worn as a nightgown? Well I DO. I want more of these, please in XL or XXL because they go beautifully with EVERYTHING.

Got this as a quick solution for part of a Ren Faire costume. It was light weight and comfortable and very easy to add pieces (corset and overskirt, accessories) to fit our theme

Use your measurements for the best fit! :) Think material but not cheap. About the quality that you would get at a fashion store such as H&M. Best with a slip or a body suit under it. LOVE itThis is the large on a size 12 -14

I bought this dress because I needed something like this for a costume, and it works well - but it is somewhat of a weird fit (at least on me).I bought a large - because I wanted to be sure to have a long enough dress - and the smocking is quite loose around the waist, but the skirt part is a little shorter than expected (reaches my ankles).Still works for me, and the fabric is soft and nice - plus the drawstring around the neckline makes it adjustable.Cute, altogether, and a good buy - it's comfortable and fun :)For reference, I'm 5'4", 125 pounds and 36B.

Love this dress!! I'm 5'7 130lbs, and it's not to short for once! I like loose/sexy summer dresses that still show my curves. I normally wear a size medium, Reading the past reviews I purched a size small. I didn't see when I bought The dress, it has small pearls embroidered on the bust, so pretty!

The first mistake I made with this dress was washing it without tying the draw strings and when I pulled it out of the wash, I had to fish it from inside the dress. But as long as you keep them tied, this shouldn't be a problem. As for the way it looks, I expected the red to be a bit darker, but the dress fits well and is extremely comfortable. The fabric is also thick enough to keep you warm. I love it.

My dress arrived today & the fit is very flattering to a full figure. I am 5'3" & 230 lbs & I ordered the XL the fit is perfect. The hemline, if it were hemmed, falls right at the top of my feet, the drawstring bodice is great because it makes the neckline very versatile. My only wish is that the bottom of the dress was hemmed. It is an easy fix. If you are looking for somthing with a full "gypsy" skirt this dress has the same fullness as your average maxi dress which is not much. Still I love it & can wear it not only for my Halloween costume & for Ren. fairs but throughout the year as well!

Love it! I bought this to go under an overbust corset, and it is definitely better than I expected. The fabric is thick and heavy, appropriate for cooler weather wear, but still breathes so you don't swelter in the dress. However, because it is heavy, it drags down on the neckline, and can pull it a bit out of shape. For me, wearing this dress without a corset is unflattering on my body.The length is perfect. I'm 5'3" so I tend to have problems with maxi dresses, as they tend to drag on the ground. This dress, however, hits just at the top of my bare feet, so I don't need to worry about the hem getting dirty, regardless of what shoes I wear.I find that the fabric is very forgiving. It is both stretchy to accommodate a multitude of body types, and thick enough to hide flaws. The adjustable neckline allows you to customize your look, the smocked waist allows you to stuff your face full of dinner AND dessert without becoming uncomfortable, and the skirt, for me, clings to my body just enough to show off my shape without making me feel self-conscious about my legs.I would definitely recommend this dress. The moment I put it on, I was enamored with the look, and if I never need another, I would not hesitate to buy (pending longevity, since I just received this two days ago). The purple is just as in the picture: a rich, deep color, gorgeous on most skin tones. The only con is that the medium fits a little loose on me. I have a 30" waist and the listed waist measurement for the medium is 24" so I thought I was cutting it close, but the smocking is very, very forgiving. In the future I will probably purchase a small.Other thoughts: I think this would be great for a renaissance costume, but would benefit from a petticoat. It's not necessary, but the dimensions of the dress would easily allow it, and it'd provide the skirt with more body. As it is, the skirt clings a bit, and has no real flare due to the weight of the fabric.
