The False Prince (the Ascendance Series, Book 1): Volume 1

The best thing about this book is Sage he is a brilliant character and the whole situation is a classic well told story. Its a book for middle schoolers and its perfect for them but entertaining enough to keep 28yr old me happy. I love reading books like this they are so much more magical then adult books.Downside of the book its predictable you know how its going to go there are small twists when Sage narrates his actions but apart from that its not a twisty action packed read. The author is great though and tells the story beautifully there are a few lines that had stuck with me. My favourite is 'Lies fell from his lips as gracefully as raindrops from a cloud'

Replacement copy. My son read this book and the other 2 in the series when he was 10/11yrs old. He really enjoyed them and so when his original copy of the false prince was ruined in a freak accident involving a tub of homemade slime in his school bag, we had to replace it!

My son disappeared into this book and couldnt be raised until he had finished it and then the first thing he said was "I would like the sequal please!" It is fabulous.

A gift for my niece, she said she couldn't put it down - not so good for the homework I'm afraid!

I bought this book for my nine year old son but read it myself one quiet afternoon. Great story, loved the characters, loads of suspence. I will certainly be reading the next two books.
