I don’t want to use anything else
I love this hair product. It smells amazing. Great hold, no crisp, and it’s not too heavy for my fine hair. Frizz will always be present with natural curls, but it does the job. It’s honestly the best product I’ve used. Worth the $$$However, they sent the wrong product last time. There are many reviews stating this as well. They sent a cream, which I cannot use because it contains ingredients I’m allergic too 🤷🏻♀️ sad.

Lighterweight gel that's not sticky
Was an Eco Styler gel kinda gal but have left it behind for this. I use on damp hair and it has the right amount of hold without stickiness. I add gel AFTER my fave curl cream and Fructis Sleek & Shine Moroccan Oil Treatment in the orange container and my hair is set for the whole day. Keeps the crunchiness to a minimum and gives a lovely shine. Bonus points for only having to spray my hair with water the next day and fluff & separate quickly for the curls come right back (see photo after water only application 2nd day). Smells great too. So it works well and is inexpensive enough to try. Great product!

Medium-Strong Hold for Curly Hair, Overwhelming Coconut Scent
For this gel, I basically only have two thoughts: it works extremely well, and is my go-to for a medium-strong hold gel. If I want my hair (as a biracial/black-white mixed race person) to have a bit of movement but keep its overall shape/style, this is a perfect gel.Unfortunately, I find the coconut scent too strong; makes me feel a bit nauseous. I try to mix this gel in with other hair products. But I'm sure for other people, the strong coconut smell is lovely, so it really just depends on what you like.

Curls
The Maui Moisture Curl Quench + Coconut Oil Ultra-Hold Gel is a game-changer for my curly hair! It provides the perfect balance of moisture, shine, and hold without the crunchiness that often comes with hair gels. The coconut oil, papaya, and plumeria extracts leave my curls feeling soft, hydrated, and well-defined. I love that it's made with 100% aloe vera as the first ingredient, which keeps my hair healthy and nourished. Plus, it's free from parabens, silicones, and sulfates, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a natural, gentle product. It's so easy to use—just rake it through my hair, and I’m good to go. Highly recommend for anyone with thick, curly hair looking for a reliable styling product!

Not natural by any means but it does work
I bought this before knowing much about healthy ingredients, so I didn't realize it has several potentially harmful ingredients in it. The scent is a strong coconut scent. The jar lasts a very long time. The gel works pretty well and doesn't really create a cast (a plus for some, a negative for others).

Madly in love with this product, good for 2b-3a curls
I’ve been using Maui Moisture conditioner and shampoo lines for a couple of years now (curly girl method = no ‘cones or sulfates), but this is the first time I’ve used this curl gel. I bought the mousse at the same time and used it a few times before giving this gel a try today. The mousse was fine but a bit light for my hair. It looked soft and a bit flat and frizzy. I read this Curl Quench was heavier/thicker and today was a shampoo day so I decided “what the heck.” It took a while to dry, but once I scrunched out the casts — holy smokes! My curls are a mix of 2b, 2c, and 3a, and now my new gray parts are so loose they’re practically in the 1 category. It looks like this Curl Quench is even getting those straighter gray spots to behave themselves. Since today was a shampoo day, my hair was already a bit "lighter/drier" than usual. I can't wait to see how my curls react tomorrow!Curly friends with thicker hair, especially curls that misbehave: this might be your product! The first two photos are right after I scrunched (casts were still a tiny bit damp). The third photo was about 10 hours later to show how the curls fluffed out. Tomorrow I'm going to be a lot more careful how I twist to make sure the curl pattern is better -- there were some crazy pieces, but I think that was me being sloppy when it was still wet. I'm not used to "super hold."*Update* I discovered a slight downside: this product really doesn’t rinse out very well and so there is buildup after a few days (I have to re-wet my curls every morning). An extra shampoo day every week is still worth the curls I get with this gel.

WOW. Best hair day my 2C/3A waves have ever had!
India Batson’s recommended this on her Youtube channel about styling wavy hair, and WOAH, even my HUSBAND said he’d never seen my wavy curls look so good!

Does not moisturize or hold
I have long naturally curly hair. My hair needs a lot of moisture and hold. I was hoping this product was going to end my search for the perfect gel that provides good hold and moisturizes. Sorry to say this one isnt it. The gel is thick and smells great. I used a fair amount on my hair to hold my curls in place and used a diffuser to dry. What I got instead was no hold and lots of frizz. My hair hasnt been this frizzy in years. I live in the California High Desert so not a lot of humidity that would make it frizz. This product made my hair very dry and feeling like straw. I was using Shea Moisture Curling Gel Soufflé, which held much better than the Maui Moisture and provides more moisturizing. Looks like Ill continue to use it until I find another one that works better.
