didn't work worth a crap. the built in wireless on my cheap laptop picked up twice as many networks.

It says it supports Linux. Do they supply the driver, or do they just give a link to a third party driver? Anyone get it to compile in 2022?

Yes it does work in Kali Linux. Either look at Alfa website for drivers and instructions or you can also look up David Bombal on YouTube and search his site for this model. There are drivers and instructions out there.

What's the range of this product? Could it reach a WiFi source 300-500 ft away?

Yes. But the source has to be strong enough to reach YOU. mine does several thousand feet if the source is strong enough
