Great music
This was purchased for my granddaughter. She plays cello and wanted some new books so I bought her two. She loves them and if already playing from them.

Fun and Easy to play
I like this book because it has many fun songs. Not having played my cello for several years, I chose this because my skills have declined. This book of music is fun, and that encourages me to practice more, hopefully, returning my cello skills in the future!

Good for gigs
I'm a professional cellist, and I use this book for solo cello gigs, mostly for filler sight-reading background music. People like hearing the familiar tunes on the cello, and they're pretty easy.As a cello teacher, I find these books not as useful as I'd like- they definitely take the same music and use it for 10 different instruments, and just transpose it and make sure it's not outside the range of 1st to maybe 5th position (99% is in 1st though). The rhythms are hard for beginners and the songs are always in keys that require extensions or shifting. They're good for early intermediate cellists, but I have to put in a lot of bowings and fingerings, as they don't bother with that while editing. Late intermediate and beyond, they aren't that interesting or fun to play.I'd really like a book made with the cello in mind- maybe interesting pizzicato, harmonics, chords, anything to make them more interesting for professionals, or arranged with easier keys/rhythms for beginners.

My friend plays the cello to relax, and she loves this book!
This book was a gift for a friend who used to play the cello in high school, but that cello belonged to the school. She said it always relaxed her. So we found her a cello, but her selection of music was very limited. She was thrilled to receive a book that contained several styles of music. Nice book!

Good
Good but not very difficult

Many nice songs
For my tastes, this is one of Hal Leonard's better books. The arrangements and keys are great for cello. It is less than 10% of the songs that I either did not care, and most of those are the most modern pieces that rarely lend themselves to a melodic line.

Not compatible
Absolute waste of money when it is not compatible with music reading/use software. And they will not let you return it.

Sappy love songs
Level 2 Suzuki could play most of these songs. Pretty easy.
