do they keep out water when used correctly?

I use them for insulating and bundling purposes. I have never tried an application either immersed underwater or exposed to moisture such as outdoors. I would definitely not try them in an immersion application. And I'd be cautious of exposing a shrink tube connection to a high humidity environment such as outdoors. Water tends to wick into tight places. I have extensive experience with shrink tubing. This is not a knock on this brand as I wouldn't count on any heat shrunk connection to be waterproof.
