JapanBarn 1811, Japanese Tamagoyaki Omelette Pan Omelet Egg Pan Rectangle Mini Frying Pan Made in Japan

This pan is not a bad product, but I was quite disappointed of it because I expected a lot more when it is labelled as "Made in Japan"!First, the pan didn't come with proper packaging/protection. The only package that came with it is just a loose clear plastic bag that only cover the pan (does not even cover the handle); The pan came already chipped on the coating on one of the edges; the wood made handle has a clear coating but it was not even properly sanded.The pan is heavy made, the coating is matt black in color and very smooth. I saw a few reviewers thought this is cast iron, but since my pan came chipped, I can clearly see it is steel color underneath the black coat.The pan does cook nice when you use the right amount of oil/grease on it (it does stick if there aren't enough oil), it is to be used on medium to low heat as the pan heats up very quickly because it is quite thin. I found that the bottom of the pan formed a slight curve after it heated up so it is not flat anymore when you are cooking with it and it is not easy to get a even heat on the pan if you are use a flat/glass stove top, the pan will resume to flat bottom after it is cooled down.The communication with the seller is good, they explained to me that I got a defected pan and ask me to have it returned. I did find the overall quality of this pan isn't as expected, so I will probably just stay away from it. It does look like a discounted "made in japan" product that were sold in like a Japanese 100 Yen store, kinda like a dollar store in the North America. However, It is still better quality comparing with "made in china" cookwares.

I only gave it a 4* because the pan is scratched near the handle part and it is probably due to packaging or shipping from Japan, but overall very satisfied with the product. A bit smaller for NA standards though

This pan is a garbage. It will stick even for pan fried egg with lots of oil and it is hard to clean. What a nightmare!
