Inspired by a lack of stylish, yet fully-protective motorcycle boots, Indie Ridge created a boot that you can wear on and off the bike. It’s an all-day boot you can ride to work, wear all day, ride home and feel comfortable and safe. Our test group, the Indie Ridge Insiders, includes warehouse workers, chefs, first responders, construction workers — all of whom ride to work, are on their feet all day, then ride home. We’d like to thank everyone who continue to put our boots to the test and were excited for you to try them.

I didn’t know moto boots could be this comfortable.
I’ve put about 1,000 miles in these boots so far, as well as walked probably over 100 miles in them, and they continue to get more comfortable. I wear these boots when ever I ride to work, as well as for random chores around the house (clearing snow, working in the garage, etc) and they are as comfortable on the bike as they are off.To start, the ankle protection feels super secure. The toe cap, while not a steel toe, is super sturdy feeling, without being overly bulky to get underneath a shift lever. The outsole tapers nicely at the bottom, giving the boot a smaller feel, making finding the foot levers even easier. The fit, while a little narrow, isn’t uncomfortable in any way. In fact, I think it adds to the “accuracy” feeling of the boot. There’s no excess bulk near the toes, where it matters.Off the bike, I wouldn’t hesitate to walk 10 miles in these. When I ride to work, I ride in these boots, and wear them the entire day. Walking around the office is super comfortable, but they still feel secure and safe enough to work in the shop handle heavy parts and equipment. They’re perfectly presentable for the office environment I’m in (pretty casual), and don’t look out of place with a flannel and jeans. The leather is picking up a beautiful patina as I break them in. Scuffs, scratches, and wear marks look great, but don’t leave the boot looking abused. It perfectly captures a rugged, broken in look.Honestly, I can’t come up with anything negative about these. I also have the Crow boots, and didn’t think boots could get any more comfortable. When I decided to get a pair of brown boots to compliment the black, the Comanche have become my go-to boot 9 times out of 10 over the Crow. Even if I’m not riding, I’ll choose these over my Danners and Red Wings. They’re that good.

Well Designed and Engineered Motorcycle Boots!!!
First off, I’ve never bought a pair of boots (actually any product) with a guarantee like their “Live Free Guarantee”, which includes the company owner’s phone number! This company stands behind their exceptional products, so for no other reason, these are boots to consider! However, I must tell you, these Comanche boots rock for so many other reasons! The Comanche’s are very comfortable after a day ride, or even if I have just been on my feet all day! (Do order 1 size larger (or more if you have thick socks) than you normally wear, as suggested in the Comanche boot description, since they do run narrow). They are darker than in the Amazon pictures, but have that great weathered, broken in look! (even the cream side soles have a distressed, worn look!)I have weak ankles, but these feel very, VERY secure in the padded cuff liner, which also serves the purpose of keeping the water out…did I tell you these boots are waterproof? I’ve had water dumped from my old boots after a wet ride before, so am hoping I’ve seen the last of that!Oh…another unexpected BIG feature…look closely at the outer ankle area…see those bumps which look like ghosting of “Converse Chuck Taylor” high tops? Well, that’s a cool retro touch in itself, BUT the reason I think for them are to give your ankles extra room inside the boot….so your ankle side bones are caressed inside the boot, and not the boot rubbing on the sides of your ankle bones all day long (you know that feeling if you’ve worn regular or motorcycle boots!)Working in the garage and drop a tool on your toes? No problem…while not a steel toed boot, the toe and heel is reinforced, and is a huge plus when working the shifter all day long in traffic.Couple of nice extra features…..a hefty boot strap for pulling them on, AND unique grippy, bi-directional soles that I’ve never seen before. (check out the pictures) The soles help to provide grip, whether pushing forward, or backwards…a BIG plus for me when maneuvering my Fat Boy in and out of the garage. One last thing (yeah, I know, this guy is windy), but something I think is kinda special…All of the boots in their Phoenix Collection (which includes these Comanche ones) are Rod Velarde Special Edition boots. Rod I found out (from his artwork info card enclosed in the box) is one of “America’s last great traditional Apache artists”. I mentioned the card…it and the box cover shows off some of Rod’s work (see pictures)This was my first order from Indie Ridge, and I can tell you, if all of their products are this well made, then this won’t be my last order! So overall, this is a no brainer…5 stars all the way around. Do yourself a favor a try a pair…I think you’ll be glad you did!

High quality, look great, have ankle protection
These boots are AMAZING. These are the 3rd boots I have tried in my 2-year motorcycling career. For a long time I used hiking boots, then a brief time with moto boots of much less quality that I returned. These Indie Ridge boots are far and away the best! The quality is outstanding. They are somehow stiff enough in the toes and upper ankle regions to bolster the belief that they are going to actually protect you during a crash. Yet at the same time the boots are amazingly comfortable to wear for hours at a time. I have worn them for a half day of work (yes they look good enough for an office job), multiple 8+ hour days of motorcycling, for 2-3 miles of impromptu hiking, and even fell asleep in them in a camp chair. The appearance is high-quality, and I was worried that the gear sifter on the Harley, Honda, or Yamaha motos would scuff the left toe pad up but the boots hold up great and still look good a couple of months later. The leatherwork, stitching, and cut all are top-notch.For downsides I have to search. Basically the tradeoff for a waterproof boot is that they don't have side zippers and also don't 'breathe' well. It's nice to take the boots off in the middle of your day and let your feet air out a bit. But I can't really call this a complaint as it is really a trade-off for being waterproof. I haven't ridden in the rain yet with them but I have complete confidence in them being dry if you can keep the water out of top.I don't generally write such glowing reviews but these are winners. I am going to check out their gloves next and maybe another set of boots for my wife.
