Good stand, works well for my application
I use this stand for recording music and video as well as to look at lyrics or chord changes while playing music. I live in a small studio so the weighted base takes up less space than a traditional tripod and it is a heavy, sturdy base. The stand has the advantage of being able to put down pretty low without a gooseneck, which is another reason why I purchased this one, sit I am usually sitting on a chair and needed one to be level with my eyes and did not want a gooseneck since I would have to move the stand back which would take up more room. The actual part that grabs the iPad is sturdy and secure but it could use some padding or something because these stands work best without a case. Comparing it to my Hoverbar Duo, the Kantek has much harder edges where the iPad goes in. However, it holds it well and does not fall down. Some cons is that 1. it is expensive, really overpriced for what it is, but it was one of the only few short, weighted base, non-gooseneck options on Amazon. Also, you are able to position the iPad up but with the design, you can't angle it downwards. Overall it is not perfect and expensive but I think it will hold up for a few years and works well for my application.

I would buy again!
I was nervous ready some of the reviews but for the money I’m happy with it! Only thing that could improve it would be for the base to suction cup to the surface.

Adjustable
The media could not be loaded. Have purchased dozens of these over the last few years for business use at hospital and clinic settings. The adjustable base is perfect for large and mini iPads and tablets. Light weight and some of our Healthcare teams remove the screw to pick up the device without the base

Good for the kitchen or nightstand
My older iPad Air has been relegated to occasional use, and often ends up on my nightstand (functioning as a glorified alarm clock or TV) or in the kitchen (displaying recipes or how-to videos). This is a simple and functional stand when you aren't really using your tablet “in hand” very much. The rotation and swivel options are great, and the stand moves smoothly. I like the ease of simply turning the unit from portrait to landscape without having to adjust any bracket. The clamps hold my iPad in landscape position (clamps are on the top and bottom, holding the long sides of the iPad), and it still holds securely when I rotate it to landscape. My one star off is because the clamps have a depth to accommodate various tablets and cases, so a bare iPad has about 1/2 inch of space between the clamp and the back. The iPad is still held in place, but can shift a bit. I wish they had included “spacers” that could be put in place to close that gap. I ended up going to Home Depot to buy some clear rubber door bumpers to solve this issue.

Isn't Universal, I was lucky
I needed a stand that would work well with my iPad Mini (retina) for my concession business. I needed something that would allow my tablet to use Square card reader, then swivel so the customer could sign without ever picking up or touching the tablet. This worked perfectly. The bottom is nicely weighed so the unit stays planted (although I do wish it had a mounting option). The clamps on the left and right are made of a rubber material along with the dark grey circle between the clamps, ensuring no harm to your tablet while its clamped in. The base can rotate the entire tablet 360, the same way a person can swivel around in an office chair. And for even more versatility, the hinge that connects the top half to the lower half can flip your tablet to be viewed by someone opposite from you, which is perfect for over the tablet encounters. But looking at how the stand is set up, I can say I was one of the lucky ones. This stand probably wouldn't work with half of other tablets. The clamps that you see in the provided picture only slide out about an inch on each side, and are spring loaded. So whatever tablet that requires the clamps to stretch will fit nice and tight. However, like some iPad users here, when the iPad is in portrait mode (home button at the bottom), this doesn't stretch the clamps, leaving only the non slip rubber on the clamps to keep the iPad in place (thus the reason behind the 1 star reviewers complaint and loose iPads). I would think this is the case for only the iPad AirTrying to explain dimensions on something square could be confusing (height, width, and depth can be confused with one another) so here's a general rule for this stand- if one of your tablets dimensions is between 6.5-7.9 inches, then it would fit one way or another. The dimensions for a Nexus 10 are 10.4 x 7 x .4, so it would fit. Same with the iPad mini. However, the Kindle Fire HDX dimensions are beyond 7.9 inches or below 6.5, so it might not. Also, forget about having a case on while this tablet is clamped in. I recommend a full body plastic film protector, like Bodyguardz or SkinomiBut all in all, the stand works perfect for my needs, and makes my business look very professional for a low price. And as many people have said after searching forever, its the only one of its kind at this price

Good enough
Very sturdy - no fear of toppling over at all.Adjustment is really good. Flips back, forward, rotates 360 degrees smoothly and roughly slots into 4 positions for 2 portrait and 2 landscape.Only thing I don't like is that when in it's 'slot' there is still some movement.......about a centimeter and a half or so rotation each way. I am not describing it well sorry. It doesn't droop or slant at all - landscape for example is nice and level but it does feel a bit lose when you touch the tablet - I would have preferred it to lock in place a bit more.Anyway - very nice - works well - nothing fancy (looks good although I think it's all plastic)

Product broke 2 months!
Purchased this product in October and the tablet stand has fallen apart already! First one the the clips to hold the tablet on broke off then the piece that holds the tablet fell off the stand!!! Very disappointed in the quality of this item!

Doesn’t fit
This looks like a great stand. However, it doesn’t fit my iPad mini. I can make it fit at the maximum, but I’m not willing to fight with it every time I want to insert or remove my iPad.

Stand for my Ipad
Like the idea that the stand supports my Ipad. However, limitations on height adjustment and angles. Minimal capability. I usually have it mounted on top of packages of blank paper.
