A Manufacturer's representative confirms that the memory function has been removed from the 400-light version (not the 800-light).This means that the light string will not remember the lighting mode when power is interrupted. As suggested in the photograph I mounted this string on my roof, punched a button on the plug until it locked on the mode that I wanted. I control my lights through a timer, and when the power went off/on the 400-light string began cycling through the 8 lighting modes, continuing to do so until the button on the plug was pressed again. Think about climbing a ladder to do this every night.

this was the easiest and coolest strand of lights I have ever installed it comes as a single strand but bundled into multiple parts. no need to unwind the whole spool and have it fall apart midway thru install making you go back and fix it later. I had a Hugh house that would have been an easy 40 to 50 strands making at least 25 places along the route have failure points. this strand I started at one end and did the whole job and only a single plug to worry about the one to turn them on. to make it even nicer they made it a remote unit so you never have need to unplug it until your ready to take them down. I will be purchasing more of these units for further jobs this season.

Great lights overall. I mainly bought for the low energy consumption and pretty icicle design. Also, my local Home Depot and Lowes were out of LED lights. Warm white is a great hue. The various light twinkle patters are interesting, but half of them make me feel like I could give someone a seizure. The slow glow/ twinkle is my favorite.The structure of the lights seems durable and after putting them up (used small hooks/ nails which worked well with the braided wire structure). Only problem I saw is that if one light fails there's no replacing a single light, if it fails.I only installed one long string, but connecting them seems simple with the unique adapter.They withstood the few rainstorms in my area after install, but the oncoming snow next week might out them to the test.Overall I would recommend.

I used these for the 2019 christmas season. They were easy to link together and hung nicely. I was not super happy with the color, it was distinctly yellow compared to the warm white led lights I wrapped my trees in. Also, even with 8 functions, there wasn’t one that was just shimmering/twinkling, so that was also disappointing. After a while any of the modes started to feel like a used car lot with all the flashing. Ok, that’s fine, at least they had functions, and it was neat to have 3 strings all doing the same thing. But then, taking them down, we saw that many of the lights had rust inside of them due to water infiltration. It only rained 2 times on them, and we expect better quality in a product that is meant to be used outside, especially at that price. After seeing the rust, we decided to return them. Too bad, I really wanted to like them, and haven’t found a suitable alternative.

The lights are not purple at all!Just a faint cold blue color.The picture shown is not even close.Not a good color al all, if you want purple, move on and purchase other lights!!!

When I saw these were 8 function, I assumed they would have a button on them that allowed the functions to be chosen. Nope! Wish I had more control over that, which is why I only gave them 4 out of 5 stars. No remote or button to control the modes. They look nice, though!

The warm white is very pretty. It’s not too bright so you don’t feel like you’ve turned a projector on. But it’s bright enough to make the house very pretty. It has different patterns of blinking. It’s very humid where i live and the lights are fine. Haven’t had them rained on yet though.

I bought a bunch of these for the holiday season in 2019 (now it’s November 2021). I noticed last year that all of the lights show signs of rust throughout. But they still worked. This year several of the sets have lights that are out. And three of the six power adapters are not working. While some of them are hooked in line I need four of the power adapters to work. So now I have light strands that are no longer working. I’d avoid this cheaply made light set.
