Make: Rockets: Down-To-Earth Rocket Science

Lots of pages, basic to advanced, highly recommend

I'm 74 years old, but just getting started in model rocketry. This book covers just about everything, and includes over a dozen projects. I've built four of the rockets so far, but have not launched any yet due to the weather here in Alberta. I might have to build one of the water rockets next, since I could launch that in the rain!

This book takes the reader through building and flying several rockets, powered by air, water and rocket motors. The book also introduces the reader to the science of model rockets, from simple stability to comprehensive rocket science. For anybody who enjoys some of the physics, or wants to explore a bit further, this book is fascinating. Safety and rocket law are also explained. However the book is largely in imperial, not metric, and the parts listed are often not available in UK stores. However I have had little problem finding similar parts in UK DIY shops, and of course, from Amazon.

This book is an amazing addition to your rocketry library. All of the projects are detailed with a huge number of color photos and complete building instructions. Starts simple and goes all the way to getting you deep into a great hobby. You won't be disappointed in making this purchase. The sky's the limit.
