Rubie's Serape and Hat Pet Costume, Small

Simple costume design to put on a pet! I bought it for my dog originally, but it also did fit my catThe costume is decent material and not super thin like some costumes. I was not worried about it ripping.It consistent of 3 parts.Hat- elastic band to keep on the head was perfect length. It was not constricting on either the dog or the cat. It also kept the hat on well. My cat would immediately grab the hat with his paw and pull it down, but that's just his normal attitude.Back cape- wraps around the neck and the waist with velcro to secure the costume on. The velcro was good and would not come off unless the animal wanted to take off the costume.Neck peice- Think of it like a Bib. It attaches by 2 velcro strip, directly to the Neck peice of the back cape.My dogs mesurements:Neck- 12.5 inchChest-24.5 inchHeight to shoulder- 21 inchBack- 21 inchMy cat mesurements: BIG KITTYIf my dog was any larger, I would size up. He was comfortable in this costume and actually won first place at a pet costume contest.It was slightly big on my big kitty. If your cat is less than 15lbs, definitely size down!For the price, I recommend this costume. It's not overwhelming to the animal and they seem to tolorate it well compared to other costumes I've tried in the past. Plus the quality is more than exceptional for the price point.

Smaller than what I needed. My pup is a weimaraner and sharpei mix and at 6-7 months is usually a perfect medium. When our medium came in it was tight all around, from the neck being way too small, to the belly strap barely touching. Her body type is more weimaraner than sharpei and is lean. I think a large would have fit her perfectly. I added fabric and turned it into a dress for a fiesta party, so I was able to save it. All that said, the fabric is nice and light weight, colors are vivid, and the hat is a good quality. All around the product was great, but the sizing was not for us.

Costume is cute but the medium was too big for my chihuahua. The neck fit perfect though so the small wouldn’t have fit either. It is very thin material. The medium did however, fit the office cat. Cute for the price, but I will be getting something more like a sweater for her instead of this. It was too thin and didn’t fit correctly. She was tripping over the front which was dangling. I did buy a way cuter sombrero from the same company as shown on my 11 lb. chihuahua. The tiny black hat that came with it was a bit flat, and not sombrero like. Good for the price!

I grabbed a small, and a large (9 pound Chihuahua, 24 pound Fox Terrier), and they fit pretty well!This is a three piece item. You have the frilly piece in the front, that velcros to the back piece, and then you have the hat (which can be cinched tighter if needed). The hat in both sets were different sizes, which is awesome because it fit both of my boys perfectly. I like the construction of this, but I wish the strap on the belly was more adjustable or more easily stretchy. Our big guy had a bit of a problem getting into the strap and I didn't have time to really fix it with an extender... but it definitely worked.Super cute Mexican Serape costumes! They looked pretty awesome at their birthday party (yes, we do dog birthdays!)

The hat is fine - GREAT! The serape ... well, this is NOT a large for sure. I have no clue what dogs they measured for sizes, but the Large is NOT going to fit most medium-sized breeds (unless they are young puppies). I ended up doing a hack and using only the long part of the serape (the part shown as going over the back). The rest wasn't big enough to fit anywhere. In the photo, my dog is the Boxer on the right ... you'll see how big the large section of the serape is. Bottom line: I was able to use some of this costume (another photo uses the included hat) but the serape is not going to work for large dogs. Maybe not even for medium dogs.

I am really glad I bought this! I just received it today and I think it's hilarious. Obviously, it is not the finest quality serape, it's actually just some sort of polyester-type fabric with some velcro. It goes around the neck and has a velcro strap around the belly. The hat was flattened out during shiping (which is common even for people costumes), so I expected this. But, in the picture I had taken it straight out of the packaging and you can see that there is a bit of curve to it just from me folding the corners up and it stayed. I will put a couple of stitches in it just to secure the corners, but I don't know that it would be necessary.I ordered a large for my stocky Miniature Australian Shepherd, who is about 27 lbs, but has a broad chest. I probably would have been okay with a medium because the straps just go around the neck and belly, where I typically have to order up a size for t-shirts.I have another dog whom I did not order this for. He hates costumes and was not excited about letting me try this on him, which is what I expected. If your dog does not like wearing things, then he will easily get any hat off - it doesn't matter what kind it is if a dog doesn't want to wear it they won't. This dog that I bought it for gets really excited when he wears costumes. He loves seeing everyone laugh at him, even then I don't imagine he'll be excited about leaving the sombrero on for long.Attached are pictures of my dog in the costume, trying it on straight out of the package.

My dog hates me now lol…but I think this is adorable! The sizing is a lil small. My dog is a lil chunky and about 30 pounds but a medium breed…and a size large barely fit her (around her neck and belly)…so not sure about bigger dogs. But totally recommend!

My dog, who is nicknamed Beans - because he hops around like a Mexican Jumping Bean, got this for his birthday. I really think he was less than thrilled by my purchase, but I was happy and he got more treats for tolerating me having a photo shoot with him in our living room.End of the day, it was good quality, fit well, and was funny as heck.

Easy fit, easy to get the dog into and out of without stressing them out. Not an invasive/bulky item and completely hilarious

Got this for our very anxious and quiet silky terrier for a Mexican themed birthday party. Despite he is a large size compared to a small dog the costume fit his strange body shape very well and he felt very confident as his alter ego ‘King salsa’. It isn’t too tight around the neck or body, meaning it was very comfortable for him, really bought out his character on the night, definitely recommend

Lo compró para mi perrita que es una Shitzu de 5 meses y le quedó fenomenal. Al parecer la tela no le molestó ya que lo tuvo puesto buena parte de la noche, y por el precio, siento que fue una buena ganga.Sin duda seguiré comprando de este vendedor.

Ottimo costume. Misura M perfetta per cani piccoli/medi. Facile da mettere grazie agli "strap" che dividino la parte sopra da quella sotto. Buon materiale che non da fastidio ai nostri amici cani

Fitted my mum's porky little shih tzu perfectly and he was the star of the show at a Spanish themed birthday party. As you can see in the photo he was very comfortable in this outfit and was definitely very fetching.
