A great product for professional quality and results.
I purchased the AC Infinity fans to install in a new electronics cabinet I was building to help keep myour systems cool. I purchased both the set that have the controller and an eXtra s9 3 fan unit to use as an air intake. The fans are incredibly well made. The aluminum face plate has a nice brushed metal look to it. NOTHING about the fans or controller feels cheap. I would definitely buy them again. Installation was easy. The fans and the controller come with plastic templates that you can place on the side of the cabinet to mark where to cut. I drilled the 4 corners of my marked out area and used a jigsaw to cut the holes. The entire installation of the 2 fans and controller took about an hour. Operation is simple. The instructions are in English, include pictures, and actually make since. Programming the controller is as simple as pressing the up or down arrow to change your set point temp. You have the option so to set your fans to Auto, on, off, and smart setting. There is also an option to set a temp buffer of 2 or 4 degrees for the fans to turn off once the set point is reached. It's probably one of my favorite settings because the fans don't have to run all the time. The fans are quiet and move a lot of air. There is also an alarm temp setting to alert you if your cabinet is too hot. My only suggestion for anyone purchasing this product is to get some velcro cable ties so you can bundle up the extra wire. The fans come with plenty of cable to reach the fan controller. The cables are standard USB so if you need a longer one a USB extension cable could be used. Overall I am impressed. This is a great product for anyone who wants professional quality and results.

Absolutely Brilliant
AC Infinity has always done right by me and this is no exception. I bought this fan because I installed a mini fridge in a kitchen cabinet. I had drilled out some ventilation holes but they weren't doing enough to get the fridge to work properly. I installed this fan and it did the trick. The quality of their products is second to none. Even the packaging gives you a feeling of quality and it's just cardboard. The product itself looks great and works just as described. It comes with a template to cut out any of the wall or cabinet where you are installing it. The fans run ultra quiet and are very smooth. It comes with a USB or power adapter. I opted for the power adapter to make sure that it was getting the correct amount of power to make sure that it was working as it needed to. I have the fan on high and you can't hear it at all. Moves plenty enough air for my needs. There aren't any cons to this product. The price is extremely reasonable so don't even bother looking anywhere else.

Quality & Quiet
Bought this solidly built fan kit to cut down on heat build up inside an A/V equipment cabinet that houses a 5.1 receiver and DVD player. Ordered using standard (free) shipping and received in 3 days, Unit is well packaged with good instructions for mounting. Clear plastic template for cutting the mounting hole and drilling the mounting screw holes is included-- a thoughtful touch. Installation was straight forward. I mounted the fan near the top back of the cabinet facing out to pull the hot air out. Existing openings allow the fan to pull cool air in from the front/bottom of cabinet. If the cabinet was sealed tighter, I would buy a 2nd kit, use the USB daisy chain to power it, and mount it facing in on the bottom of the cabinet to really move some air through. The only challenge was installing by myself: How to turn a screwdriver on mounting screws outside the cabinet at the same time as holding a pair of pliers on the mounting screw nuts on the inside of the cabinet?! A pair of vise grips locked on the nuts held them in place so I could tighten the screws from outside, thankfully. Otherwise, you may need a 2nd person for a few minutes. Fan can be powered either by USB or AC power. Fan also has a 2nd, short USB "dongle" for daisy-chaining additional fans: Another thoughtful idea. I plugged the fan into the switched AC outlet on my receiver, so the fan starts automatically when the receiver is powered up. Fan also has an easily removed foam filter. Kudos for a well thought out, well built unit. Most importantly, the fan keeps things cool-- even with both the receiver and DVD player running. With the sound off on the receiver, I can just about hear the fan if I put my head right by the open cabinet door. With the doors closed and with the sound on, there is no discernable noise from the fan. I'll be buying another for cooling a computer enclosed in a cabinet in my office. Highly recommended.

AC Infinity 4" fan effortlessly vents wooden desk enclosed CPU compartment even with a hot running computer.
I bought one 4" (80mm) AC Infinity fan without the controller to cool the enclosed CPU section of my desk. I have a desktop computer housed in the desk CPU enclosure that puts off a substantial amount of heat and within 1-2 hours, I measured the temperature inside the desk CPU enclosure to be around 84F. Electronic components typically don't like being run in temperatures higher than 85F and will have a reduced lifespan if they are run hotter than 85F. My desk already had a preexisting opening from under the desk surface (where my feet go) to the top of the CPU enclosure. This opening was designed to allow monitor cables to be run from the top of the desk into the CPU compartment and measured 3.9" x 6.9". I installed the fan (blowing out) at the top of the opening and closed off the remaining bottom portion with a plate. The AC Infinity fan runs off an integrated USB port located on the back of my computer and (seemingly without effort) keeps the desk CPU enclosure at almost room temperature (plus maybe 1-2 degrees). Note: I did NOT have to use the USB "turbo" converter that came with the fan. I also did not drill any new ventilation holes into the desk CPU enclosure for air intake. It would appear that the natural 1mm cracks around the closed doors on both sides of the desk CPU enclosure are sufficient for allowing room temperature air to flow into the desk CPU enclosure. The really cool thing (no pun intended :)) is that when the computer goes to sleep, it not only stops producing heat but ALSO shuts down the integrated USB port which in turn shuts off the AC Infinity fan. It is a perfect system that negates the need for the optional AC Infinity fan controller. The AC Infinity fan runs so quietly that in a dead silent room, I can't tell if the slight hum I hear is from the AC Infinity fan or the louder fan located in my computer's power supply within the cabinet. I HIGHLY recommend this fan for this application! I have also used the AC Infinity 6" (120mm) fans in my much larger home entertainment cabinets and they also perform very well and very quietly. Update: After writing this review, I tried running the fan on the low setting and the temperature inside the CPU enclosure did begin to (very slowly) creep up. Also, on the low setting, the slight hum disappears (to my ears anyway). So, the fan running on high setting does add to the hum. I'm going to watch to see if on the low fan setting the temp stops rising at some point. If not, I'll run the fan on the high setting and not worry about it. I still don't need to use the "turbo" wall USB adapter that claims a 25% increase of airflow. But, it is nice to know I have that option if I add heat producing components to my desk's CPU enclosure.

Quality fan with small caveats.
Installation was straightforward. I used this to vent my gaming computer out of the side of my desk in order to reduce the amount of hot air blowing on me from the computer. I used an oscillating tool/saw to cut the hole out of my office desk. A few things: The CFM is just okay, but the fan is quiet. There are some weird harmonics the fan puts out, which are mostly not noticeable when the computer is running. I plugged mine into the back of my PC and set my BIOS to de-energize the USB ports when the computer is in "soft off" mode. This way, the fan only runs when the computer is on. All in all, it does measurably reduce the temperature of the area at the front of my desk where my arms are placed while gaming. It's only a few degrees, but the perceived cooling of cooler air passing over me is by far the most noticeable part. It's built well; the quality is good.

Easy install, reduced temperatures and noise!
Just got the AC Infinity AIRPLATE T7 w/ Thermostat Control with an AIRPLATE S9 (one for inlet, the other outlet). Used them to convert a closet into a ventilated computer server closet (I was forced to leave the door open all the time and even then it still got to hot). I decided to go this route instead of the hundreds for a 19" rack because in the end it will still be an eyesore to look at and noisy! It's cooling the 3 machines without any problem which run at 100% CPU load 100% of the time. They come in black only so I decided to paint them white to match the door. The design of the system is very simple and very effective. Pros: * Easy install, pre-cut plastic templates included, about 2 hours for all 3 combined (took my time). * Simple cabling design, only 1 power source, daisy chainable should I want to add more. * Solid build quality, look good and they make it easy to replace/upgrade fans. * Noise reduction, no longer have to leave the door open, sure you can still hear noise but much less. Cons: * Included manual is actually really good, however it does miss how to change the brightness level. This is literally the only thing I can find to "complain" about and the answer was only a search away. * Probably a bit on the expensive side, but considering it just works, doesn't phone home and I doubt they sell millions of them (though they should) I'm not complaining. All in all, for me, it turned out to be one of those feel good projects because every thing worked as expected, no hiccups, and a really nice outcome. Rarely will I write a review let alone take pictures, but here you have it. The before (door open), black (factory) and finally in white. Not sure why amazon is flipping the pictures sideways? Updated: I tried to contact support for a simple question about voltages and switching fans and never got a response, however they had no problem asking for me to give another positive review. So I wouldn't say I'm mad, but certainly not happy with their support. At any rate allow me to do their job for them. You CAN upgrade to regular PC fans (standard 120mm) but note that USB power is only 5v and the supplied wall adapter is only 6.5V so your fans wont spin fast. However my question was if it was OK to use a 12v supply. So I took a gamble and have been using a 12v 2a adapter just fine for a couple weeks. I did try a 13v but that was to much and caused the control unit to flash on and off (no good). I did also have to turn down the brightness on the control unit because it was way to bright @ 12v. Anyway, good luck folks, I really like these things!

Great solution
5 stars to start. Looks great and professional Easy install. Comes with all needed hardware for thruhole mount or wood screw mount. Comes with a clear template/gasket to trace the necessary opening. Instructions state to reverse airflow, you need to disassemble and flip the fan around. It would be nice to reverse with a switch, but probably based on the fan electronics. VERY quiet. We shall see about durability. Overall it’s a great solution instead of buying all the pieces yourself and building it.

Fantastic product that does its job!
Wonderful product! The first thing you notice about this product is the professional care this company takes with shipping its products to you. It's Apple-level of thought in packaging here. Once you open the product the instructions are very easy to read and understand. The fan comes with a plastic template for use when you cut into your stand (or wherever it's going) which is much better than paper templates I've gotten with other types of products. The installation in my entertainment center was easy with the right tools. It hooks up to its own power supply and it's a nice bonus that the fan itself contains USB power outlets and plug-type outlets for other items to plug into and be powered by! Once installed the adjustable fan speed makes the noise level from a level of inaudible to somewhat audible in a quiet room. Once you have your sound system or TV going you won't hear the fan even on the highest setting. One thing to note about my particular installation. I installed this on the back of my entertainment center as a set-it-and-forget-it type of install. The only issue here is the speed and power controls are on the back of the fan unit and thus, hidden from my view on the back. This won't be an issue if you plan on installing the fan on the side of a unit or cabinet but I did take a picture of the back of the power unit for my own reference in case I ever have to reach behind the unit and change the settings. Once I dialed in the setting I wanted, however, I haven't had a need to adjust anything. As to the effectiveness of the fan? It's great! My AV receiver sits in the entertainment stand my wife picked out. I mentioned that because she picked out a beautiful piece of furniture for the stand but it has zero ventilation as a unit. Obviously an AV receiver generates a LOT of heat and cannot sit in a closed box without ventilation. This fan has perfectly performed and I can attest with the help of my laser thermometer that the inside of the closed box stays nice and cool at all times! I cannot recommend this unit to you more highly. In fact, I've gone on to purchase three more smaller fans from this same company (for use in the same entertainment stand for my PS5 that sits in a smaller section of the entertainment stand). They work perfectly as well. Very highly recommended!
