Update: 1st one Worked great for a year... 2nd one almost burned my house down!
Less than a week and the bloom was gone! Worked great! All the fish are alive and well!!Update: bought a second one after the first one lasted a year of continous use. I plugged the new one in to see if it worked and the coils were orange not blue... I unplugged it and checked the chords and plug made sure all connections were correct and plugged it back in. The orange glow went away, the box started short cuircuting and smoking almost catching my house on fire. Returning this product! Wish it worked like the last one.

INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS, FIRE HAZARD
Plugged this junk in and the bulb didn’t light. Instead, an arc and a fire started in the controller section. If I hadn’t tested and watched it, this could have easily started a fire and burnt my house down. Not only did the item not function, but it was a serious and immediate danger that could have destroyed my home or killed someone.Absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND this item or any such product produced by this shoddy company.

Results are CLEAR!!
I struggled fighting green water in my 29 gallon aquarium for months!! I tried chemicals, water changes, new filters wrapping with black trash bags and keeping the light off for a week…you name it, I tried it!! I stumbled across this UV light and had nothing to lose. Clearly the pics say it all!! I simply put it in my filter and turned it onto the 24 hour setting (which could probably be turned down now) and patiently waited. The pics attached are taken one week apart for 3 weeks. On the second week, I did add some water clarifier to get rid of the foggyness but that is the only chemical added since putting in the light. I’m excited to add more fish now that I’ll be able to see them. Definitely a great value for the money and highly recommend!!

I hope this helps to keep the odor down from my gray water sump pump well.
I don't have an aquarium, although I may have one in my future when I get married because my fiancee likes to keep fish. I am attempting to use this to kill bacteria in my gray water sump pump well. For years my family, and I suffered with odors coming up the stairwell to our house from the basement, not knowing where they were coming from. Finally after many attempts at controlling the odor, including venting the air outside, and sealing off the room i finally came across an article that said that sludge accumulates in your gray water sump pump well, and that it has to be completely cleaned out once or twice a year in order to keep the odor causing bacteria in the sludge from stinking up your house. I bought the UV lamp as another way of hopefully killing off these critters before they can start stinking up my house again. I am sure that I will still end up cleaning the sludge out of the sump pump well, because even if it doesn't stink it's a good maintenance practice to prolong the life of the sump pump. I don't have the UV light submerged in the water, because I would probably have to clean it off periodically. The water level is low at times, so most of the wall of the sump well gets exposed to the UV light at times. The only place the bacteria might be able to thrive is at the bottom of the well, or in the shadows made by some of the pipes. I hope this review might help someone else suffering with odor problems in their house.

Had them for years and keeps the water crystal clear
The media could not be loaded. I’m only writing this review because someone on Facebook commented on the bad reviews on this product. I’ve never had any problems or fish die in all the years I’ve had this tank. I use them in all my tanks varying different wattage on the space I have to use in the back of the HOB filter and had zero issues in three years of owning.

Amazing!!!
My son had been battling algae in hi 37gallon fish tank for weeks. We tired water changes, chemicals, sucker fish, and nothing worked. I didn’t think the UV light would work. But I thought what the heck and got the cheapest one I could find. I put it in the filter over night. The. The next day I changed the water and a few hours later it was clear as a bottle of Fiji water. It looks so good! I’ll leave it on for a week and the. Just turn it on every other day or something. Best money I have ever spent. I’ll by then for every tank I get in the future.

Light works great but the suction cups are trash
The light itself works great. The suction cups on the other hand do not work. They stick for about 10 seconds and then popoff. I have tried them on all kinds of surfaces and made sure everything was clean. They just don't work. luckly, I have been able to just leave it floating the tub I am using it in and it still works fine. If I were using a small container and needed to mount this vertically, I don't think it would work.
