Nalgene OTF Bottle Lid

Never leaks. However the silicone seal has gotten black spots that look like mold. They showed up faster on the one I drink Mio flavored water out of. I've washed it several times. I've tried vinegar, alcohol, and bleach water.These spots don't go away, and it's just gross to see every time I open the lid to drink water, So I've stopped using it. They started showing up around 5-6 months for the bottle I use for plain water, around 2 for flavored. Nalgene water bottles are so great, I with this accessory lived up to the brand name.The other main downside is that I purchased this so I could use my Nalgene bottle in the car, so I didn't have to keep purchasing disposable ones from the store. If I just kept purchasing new ones, how is that really any better for the environment that the disposable plastic bottles?

Second time this product did this.. First time took it almost a year, so I bought it again thinking it was a fluke. Second time took it less than three months... Would recommend you look for another solution or the manufacturer find another material. This was after multiple washes with multiple different detergents... Hand soap, vinegar, dawn, bleach... No luck.

I've long been searching for a convenient water bottle that can be opened and closed with one hand, can be securely locked and has a good water flow. This water bottle(lid) has it all. It fits on the 24 oz or quart size Nalgenes. The button is easy to press and the lid easily flips over to take a swig, and is easily closed by the same hand without repositioning. The metal bar can be simply be locked in place to guarantee that it doesn't come open in your bag. The only other bottles as easy to drink out of are what I call the 'adult sippy cups' with the straws in place for sucking out the water, but the flow rate on the Nalgene OTF is much better -- when you're out of breath and in the heat, you dont want to sip up water a couple drops at a time: you want to gulp it down.I have purchased three of these lids/bottles now including  NALGENE 32 oz. Wide Mouth Water Bottle Glow Green 341816 ONESIZE  and  Nalgene OTF Clear, w/ Green Cap (5565-4024) Note that it if you purchase this lid directly with a bottle, the label on the bottle will be accented with the same color as the lid.

For Years I have been sloshed in the face with either ice, water, or ice and water. No More!Since my discovery of the sacred Nalgene in college I have struggled with Endless Screwing and Unscrewing all day long. No More!As I have aged and my hands have weakened I have repeatedly dropped my blessed bottles.I say, No More!This lid is the Holy Grail of Nalgene lids.I can drink without fear through the tiny opening while retaining the actual wide opening for easy filling.My bottle now opens at the push of a button, and with a single finger.When it's latched shut, my Nalgene has a sturdy plastic ring on top for me to easily carry around my essential 48oz.The wide lid bottle has been Conquered!Huzzah!

Probably the best bottle top design I could wish for. It keeps the drinking part protected when you toss it into your bag so you don't put your mouth where it touched everything else in your bag. The locking ring works great. I have yet you have it come off by accident in the 3 years I have been using this version of caps. I replace them once in a while maybe once in a year for various reasons.

I have a Nalgene ATB bottle that I love. Unfortunately, my Maisie Grace - our year old Westie - loved the cap. By destroying it.So I am stuck with a bottle that I love and no cap. Hence the Amazon search.I came across this one and thought it had potential. It had some nice reviews, I like the look, the cap is workable with one hand, and the spout is awesome. It is contoured and beveled to the front to give an excellent flow. The flip-top lid has enough resistance so it doesn't drop down on your nose when you are guzzling down sweet, sweet water. That same lid has a very cool loop design that allows it to be hooked on a carabiner or provides a great finger hook when I want to pull it out of my MOLLE water bottle pouch. The metal safety clip is a nice feature though the plastic clicking lock mechanism works aces.And it comes in Infantry Blue - a color dear to me. Why is the sky blue? Because God LOVES the Infantry.Anyway,

The Answer! Only issue I have ever had with Nalgene was that wide mouth and the chore of getting it open and drinking from it while hiking. This top allows me to secure the bottle in the packs' bottle pocket with a carabiner and length of paracord. I can easily pop off the 'biner with one hand, bring up the bottle, open it, drink, close and return the bottle without having to do more than stop so I don't trip over my own feet while drinking.I have started carrying a 48 oz Nalgene with me all day now that I have these lids. This allows me to monitor my water intake and completely frees me from buying those questionable origin "pure" water bottles during the day. Way to Go, Nalgene!Note, at the price of C-Store water, the bottle and lid paid for themselves in a couple of days...

I used to HATE trying to drink from my Nalgene in the car, I'd make a mess everytime. This has solved that. I couldn't find a good lid with a straw, but I'm happy I went with this product. It works well and fits nicely on my 32 oz standard Nalgene. The attached picture is of it after a few month's of use. Overall, I'm very happy.
