Venture Heat Men's Softshell Heated Jacket with Battery Pack - Windproof Electric Coat Outerwear, Outlast 2.0

On it's highest setting this coat is like walking around in an oven - It's really that warm.The longest I've been able to walk around in on maximum heat before needing to turn it down is 15 minutes.The heated collar is definitely a plus point.Externally it seems pretty robust, it's wind and waterproof as far as I can tell - I've been out in a couple of heavy rainstorms and I've stayed dry. I also managed to fall over in it and it's barely marked.The one thing it really lacks is a hood - I'd like a detachable one please.I'd also like a larger inside pocket, preferably large enough to keep my iPad in and the lining material seems a bit thin and not very hard wearing, but over all I'm very, very impressed with this coat

Good jacket. Very nice for colder weather.The good:Good material and looks and feels of a quality product.Water resistant (but for good measure I've topped it up)The fleece interior lining is great and provides plenty of warmth on its own.The heating system works great and heats up quickly on the max setting.Heated collar is a nice feature.Haven't teste full time but battery seems to last well enough. I've used mine 20..30 minutes a day on high and some 20....30 more on med/low and got 3 days of use with only 2 bars down. Also battery is fairly compact and has light and full USB to use as power bank.Power button easy to find on front of jacketProvided charger is fast and comes with UK 3PIN AND 2PIN plugs for travel.Nice packaging as well with little compression pouch.Has 5 pockets, 2 outer and 3 inner.Airport security friendly (been through 2 security check points in 2 different countries and no issue)Cons:A bit heavy and unbalanced due to the battery.3 inner pockets sounds good but in truth only one will be ok. One small for keys knly and another is for the battery thus gone.Water resistant but main zip is not seam tappedBattery is good but not very smart. No USB C and can't be charged on any kind of USB.Special charger due to 8.4v setup and a bit bulky. Can't be charged via USB.No hoddie.Power button on front with fairly obvious lights.Lights not completely intuitive Red is high, white is med and blue is low.The heating appears stronger on the back panel than the front ones (although after awhile it balances out nicely). Sizes are way off as they are US. Size S US is actually size M UK.so got to consider carefully.It's a bit expensive but worth it.Sadly had to return the first one to get the right size but overall it's a great product and a good buy if you want a nice, clean looking warm cold weather jacket. It's a gift for Christmas and is perfect.That's all I can say until Christmas day.

Needs heat pads in arms

I have had heated jackets before.. my last one was bought from a TV sales show. This jacket is much better quality and a tougher material which suits me better for riding my motorbike.I know you can't have perfection in every area and I woould have give this a 5 start rate but the thing that let's this jacket down is the cuffs. There is no velcro strap to draw the sleeve in where is sits on the wrist and as a result it just flops around my wrist which I a crap design. There is also an inner type fabric around the inner wrist area but that is also too loose. The fix would be either a neoprene inner or velcro type fasteners at the wrist. As it stands this is a bad manufacturing product design area. I would have also liked a bigger battery pocket too so that I could use a bigger after market battery.I'm going to do a few road tests on my motorbike over the next few days and see if I can live with the bad areas and if not ill send it back.
