It's just Styrofoam !!!!
So, this really is just thin Styrofoam squares. I am not sure why they cost so much... or who had the idea to put packing material on a ceiling. BUT..... my wife ordered and I put them up in the bathroom.... and they dont look bad. They were super easy to work with. Just score them a little and they snap apart very cleanly. The Locktight spray adhesive did not stick as well as I had hoped, so had to use some liquid nails in places. The picture shows before I used the liquid nails, and you can kinda see how some tiles didnt stick very well with just the Locktight. Anyway, it will always bother me that I have Styrofoam squares on my ceiling... so I took off a star. But nobody else will know that its Styrofoam ... and it took no time to install. So Im calling it a winner.

Did what we needed it to do
We recently purchased a 2006 motorhome with carpet on the ceiling. The carpet is not in bad shape, very clean and tight, except for in the bathroom. Who in the world would think carpeted ceilings is a good idea in an RV bathroom? OF COURSE there was some mold growing in certain areas, particularly above the shower area.....duh! We treated the areas and stuck these panels overtop of the carpet, caulked and painted with a good mildew resistant paint and voila!

The beveled edges might be fine for a tile look application
This product might work for some but you should know that it is exceedingly thin, and the edges are all beveled on all four sides, which was not clear to me from the photos. I expected something much thicker. The beveled edges might be fine for a tile look application, but I wanted the look of a Bead board ceiling look with the "boards" running across the span of the ceiling, unbroken. With the beveled edges, it merely looks like squares of boards stuck together. The product should indicate that it is extremely thin and that the edges are beveled, which eliminates the Bead board look.I would try the tile look but not this board look except if it were a very small room or closet because of the patchwork look. I returned the product.

What you need to know about these “tiles”
Worst Ceiling product ever. If you’re old enough to remember those styrofoam plates and cups we used to use before most of us knew how environmentally unfriendly they were, well these tiles look like that. It’s the kind of material that has that awful old styrofoam sheen to it and be dented, compressed and chipped off…just like we used to do with those squeaky styrofoam coffee cups. I wish the camera on my phone could pick up the detail I’m talking about, but alas, a picture just doesn’t capture how cheap the stuff really looks. It’s like someone took a styrofoam plate and used the eraser end of a pencil to make the grooves. And what’s worse, what’s truly mind boggling, is the fact that each tile has all 4 sides that are rounded (beveled) so there’s just no way to position them to look like real lapboard or wainscoting. It’s the kind of purchase that just makes you feel like you’ve been scammed, which is why I then felt obliged to take the time and post this review; so that others will hopefully benefit by my misfortune, and not make the same mistake.

Went over and fixed a water stained old tile ceiling
It was easy to install and cut. We needed to get more adhesive on the ends but too much would be messy
