Auto Ventshade [AVS] Hoodflector Bug Shield / Hood Protector | Fits 2016 - 2023 Toyota Tacoma, 1 pc. | Dark Smoke - 21681

I bought this for my new 21 Tacoma. It fit great & was easy to install with a Phillips head screwdriver. I had to push 6 square plastic inserts into factory predrilled holes under the hood. Then set the deflector in place & screw 6 screws with washers into those inserts. That was it. It looks really good & will protect the front edge of the hood & maybe deflect a few bugs & stones over the windshield if I’m lucky. I was missing 1 of the square inserts in my parts bag. I called the 800 # on the instructions. No biggie. The robot must have miscounted.

So far ive had it for 2 years and it hasnt cracked or broken. Super simple to install.

This is the best fitting bug guard I have ever seen. Simple to install and a quality product.

The first one received was warped on the top section, kind of wavy when looking from the side, and had a few deep scratches. Returned and ordered a second one that I installed. No deep scratches, just a few surface scratches . It was still a little warped on the top section, but better than the first one so I kept it since it’s fairly cheap and looks great installed. Simple install with 6 screws in existing holes in the hood, so no drilling or having to line everything up. Others mentioned warping so much that the holes didn’t line up, mine were spot on and no problems (2021 TRD Sport) Item shipped in a box with very thin plastic lightly shrink wrapped around it so i think it is the luck of the draw if you get one delivered without any scratches on it. If they added a bit more packaging material to protect it that would make a huge difference in what customers receive. All in all satisfied with the look and fit for the price. Update 8/25/21: After about a week the logo sticker flew off at some point and I found it stuck to my hood near the windshield. Removed easily, I hated the look anyway and other reviews mentioned the same issue so I thought I’d see how long it would last. Looks much better without it, there is an etched AVS logo under the sticker logo, much better and less noticeable.

Looks very good on the truck, super easy install. Only took about 30 minutes. 5 stars.

Looks good and was easily installed. I've read some horror stories here of getting damaged, deformed, scratched, etc. and understand why, it's plastic! in time I figure there be alot of visible scratches, brand new I had a scratch or two or more I can see it's not very uniform that you'd expect like body panels on a brand new car, brand new I can see some deformity but it ain't all that bad imo. There's also some bubbles or drip like bumps in some spots that's not noticeable with the hood closed, I can live with that, lol All in All it's looks great and feels sturdy enough where I won't be using the bumpers supplied that you'd stick unto the hood's paint job. It's a good deal for <$40

Mine fit perfectly. Took me 10 minutes to install. Sturdy and looks good. The manufacturers sticker came off on the first day on the highway but who cares. I would have taken it off anyways. I only care about the functionality for the most part.

Easy to install, looks great, will deflect rocks and bugs, will protect the front from rock chips for years.
