This bonnet is for a church play during the Christmas season. It fits good and will be perfect with my costume to look like the pioneer days. I was so glad to find it and that it was reasonably priced. It's made very well and is sturdy like it should be. It's made out of heavy felt but is very comfortable because it's light on the head. It doesn't cover your face so therefore you can see quite well. I was happy that I'll be able to move around and sing without the bonnet getting in the way. Excellent choice for costuming!

I concur with other reviewers that this is not the most historically accurate bonnet, but it works in a pinch and it's the best you'll find at this price point for costume use. I bought it for Dickens Fair and took off the ribbons to replace them with prettier ones. This bonnet isn't flimsy-- it's got good structure and the felt is thick-feeling, if overly stiffened (tough to get a needle through). If you have longer hair you'll need to braid it down tight to get it to fit in the crown of the bonnet-- there's not a lot of room-- but it works.

It works well for being something simple and cheap, came in a box now all folded up so its sturdy and looks good. It will do the job!

What a great buy to complete my 19th century mourning attire for historical cemetery tours! I had been looking at bonnet patterns, thinking I'd have to make one, but once again, I'm amazed at what I find on Amazon. This bonnet is basic and costume-grade, but, considering that, it's well-made and could easily be fancied up if you wanted. I could not have made it myself for the price. It will keep fine in the box it came in and should last a long time. I'm very happy with this purchase!

The color and fit

It sits way too far back on the head. You could see half my toboggan underneath. The ribbons are in the wrong place. I gave it 3 stars because I actually wore it at the event for two hours but had to consistently keep tugging on it for it to look right. Would not recommend.

I purchased this bonnet to decorate and wear as a part of a regency era costume. It is nice to wear as it is sturdy and comfortable. It also made a great base hat to add a little decor to. If you are looking for a fancier bonnet you can add colored ribbons or some silk flowers. I would purchase this item again in other colors to add to my costume wardrobe.
