appears to be exactly the right filter and much less cost.
They appeared to be exactly the same filters, with much less cost involved. They installed exactly as the other ones did. I won’t know for sure until I see how long they last. Otherwise, good purchase!

Not quite Dyson quality.
These filter halves do come with a charcoal side. The Dyson brand filters have a much darker charcoal. The filters I purchased looked pleated. The Dyson filters had a smooth surface on the outside face. The aftermarket do accomplish, for the most part, the job they are e intended for.

Does N.O.T. Filter the Air At All
Now I see why the fan company recommends their own filters! I just wish they didn’t cost as much as a prosthetic arm or leg! My branded filter had this amazing clean smell you could smell whether you were right in front of the fan or sitting ten feet away. Heck, when the branded filter was in the fan as it came when new, even my husband asked me what I did to make the air smell so clean! He smokes and we have a Corgi that sheds massive balls of hair and she hates baths so doesn’t get bathed as often as she should because it is expensive. But the branded filter costs about the same price as a trip to get her cleaned and deshedded. This filter - you get what you pay for. It was a little more than a week before dust began to collect on the outside of the fan! The branded filter that didn’t happen for almost two months! There is no change to the icky smell in the air and I know that this model is made to filter well and it did that when the brand name filter was installed. This is just a stop-gap to run the thing without wrecking it. I don’t even want to use the second filter, it smells so gross in here that I want to order the branded filter immediately. It’s been weeks and I thought maybe it would get better somehow, but I see now it’s just not possible. The fan has a smart IQ that determines air quality and this thing has said there were contaminants from the first week. It never goes away from the screen showing the air is not clear. That was not the case for the brand name filter. Guess I have to order the name brand and read the reviews and hope people are honest about the air quality in the off-brand filters or if they are just happy they got a “deal” - I do NOT consider this a deal. It’s a waste of money. I will see if the filter works for my other expensive fan that’s a step down in quality, because I never really noticed that fan cleaning the air even when the filter from the fan brand was fresh.NEW ADDITION TO REVIEW:It is now July 23, 2023, just months after I wrote my first review. I have gone through BOTH filters in two months and the air has NEVER been clean. Let’s do the cost calculation- new filter - Cost is $80. It worked for 7 months and the air was noticeably cleaner. The cost of these filters - $25 each, both only worked about a month. So the price of these with the low life is actually costing more in the long run and the quality was never comparable.I have super taste buds and an uncommonly incredible sense of smell (a blessing and a curse because when things smell good, it’s wonderful. However things smelling bad is far more common. I get a headache from anything with any kind of unnatural scents that has told me things that are harmful even decades before it is found that they are harmful. These filters never smelled as clean as the original Dyson filter. If you don’t have freakish smell sensitivity, you might not notice the lack of quality right away, but you should notice how frequently your filter needs to be changed. Less than a month after reluctantly using the second filter, the fan is loud and the LCD screen is screaming red that the filter is clogged to near death and there is so much dust on the outside that I collected two handfuls after wiping the outside. The filters were completely clogged. I just ordered and paid my $80 penance to Dyson for having a dusty, old apartment and a dog I love way too much. Dyson is a money-gobbling racket, but they do make excellent fans. These filters are even worse, for masquerading as a “cheaper” alternative. Do I want to pay these guys $25/month for sub adequate air quality, or do I want to pay Dyson just over $10/month for air that is noticeably cleaner? You better believe I am paying Dyson from now on!
