The Uniball PowerTansmearing. .he best ballpoint pen on the market. The pen writes on most surfaces without skipping or smearing. The ink is dark and resistant to water, alcohol and acetone. The Power Tank is perfect for lab workers, medical personnel ie Paramedics,Nurses, Law Enforcement and any other profession that needs a dependable ballpoint pen. The pen comes in 7mm or 1mm point.

This is my go-to pen of all time! I like to do crossword puzzles in bed before I go to sleep, and I had trouble with other pens not writing at that angle. These pens are perfect. They write every time, and the ink lasts a long time. I have them sitting all over the house and carry them in my purse. They write right away - you don't have to shake them or scribble a bit to get them started. I've reordered them more than once. The only criticism I would have is the clip is a bit awkward and in the way of a smooth hold. Wish the on/off clip was shorter or not there at all; maybe just a push down on/off from the top of the pen.

These pens write without skipping, w smooth flow, in any orientation, from first touch on paper to last, and it's permanent ink, soon as it dries.This would be the cartridge in high end pens if the high end pens had better cartridges.You can see the ink level, and it works right to the end.These never blow up in pocket, regardless being on a plane or pocket or Arizona summer heat in a car.The unretractable ones were better for in pocket use, as the nib was retracted, and the retractable ones will sometimes self extend in pocket, so not as safe in pocket due to pointy end, but they haven't been avail for a while.The 1.0mm is great for writing, the .7mm is great for fine drawing, etc.Only pens I will buy and have been buying for over 10 years, and I make my living by the notes I take.The only pens you will ever buy again once you try them.They don't look like a million bux, but you can make a million bux w them, without losing that comma that other pens sometimes don't quite write right.Right?Right.

I'm a biologist, and I often have to write in inclement conditions, so I wanted an all-weather pen with a pressurized cartridge. But I'm also a bit of a pen geek, and I like smooth-writing pens that leave a nice line. I tried a Fisher Space Pen, and found that while it was reliable in bad conditions, it wrote like a cheapo Bic Round Stic. Too light and fine for my taste, and with lots of friction on the page. Even when I tried a bold cartridge, it felt like the pen was constantly fighting me, and it was hard to write quickly or neatly. Sorry Fisher, I like the US-made aspect, but it seems like that cartridge design needs to be updated for modern tastes.The Power Tank hits all the marks. It's a very smooth writer, leaving a nice solid line with little effort or pressure. Maybe just a touch more friction than my favorite desk writer, the Uni-Ball Jetstream. But it's close, which is surprising, considering that it uses a grease-based ink while the Jetstream is dye-based. Very little smudging or skipping. In fact, I'm on the fence about whether the Power Tank will dethrone the Jetstream as my new favorite writer. It will definitely be a take-everywhere pen for me.The 1.0mm point is a nice strong line, but not too wide or sloppy - just right for my taste. I haven't tried the 0.7mm version.UPDATE: Five months later, this is without question my favorite pen for any use. It's the one I never lend out... I only give it out as a gift, to someone who really deserves it. I have used several until they ran completely out of ink, and they worked right up until the last bit. My family also loves them. Time to order more!

Works as described, the only pen I use. However, if your looking for refills comparably priced....your out of luck. Which means you throw the whole pen away. Terribly wasteful in my opinion.
