The pictures of this caddy shows two dints in the caddy lid what are these ?

I don’t know as these were given as a present , but my sister - in - law said they helped with gripping the lid to open the tin .

No it doesn't, I find the opening a little too narrow, I'm not that impressed with it really, I should have returned it.
