3DS Rechargeable Battery Pack

If you need to replace the battery in your device and you have determined this is the correct battery then don't hesitate. This battery is a great replacement. I would recommend it, and I plan to buy it again if/when our other device that uses this same battery size/type needs to be replaced as well. After years of use the original battery in our boys 2DS started to have a very short life and it became the device that none of the boys really wanted to play. So there it sat in the video game bin; sad, lonely, left to collect dust and be forgotten forever. But that meant one less electronic device available to be played, which equaled more fighting than usual over who gets to play what device. Eventually I (mom) noticed the increase in unnecessary arguments over video games and realized what the problem was. So I got on Amazon searched for a replacement battery read some reviews and bought this replacement. Got it in the mail, put it in the device and tada the device is working like new again! It was simple to replace and even game with the screwdriver to open the battery compartment on the device. It came charged and ready to use, it holds its charge when not in use and last for many hours before it needs to be charged again. I hope you appreciate the review as much as my kids appreciate that they have their device back.

Although it may not hold much battery power compared to the original 3DS battery (could last anywhere between 2-4 hours) it would be great to use if your original battery is ruined or worn out. It fits fairly well into the 3DS, and uses both the red light and flashing red light feature when the 3DS is low on battery power. Overall a good replacement for really worn out or damaged lithium batteries. Also as a heads up: if you do replace the battery on your 3DS, the date and time will reset and will be in need of fixing in the settings.

I took my 3ds out of storage and when I went to charge it, the light would turn on for a few seconds then would turn off. I tried doing a bunch of things to fix it but ultimately it was just a dead battery. I figured the 3ds would turn on without a battery but plugged into the ac power but that is not the case—it needs a battery outputting the correct voltages to turn on. In the end, this one worked great. It has battery life comparable to the oem one and so far it’s working great. If it swells up or otherwise becomes non functional I’ll update the review

2026 Update: Battery swelled and stopped working My original 3DS battery started to swell up and was causing an issue where it would turn off it I tapped the back of the system while playing. I purchased this as a replacement and it came with a little screw-driver which was very nice. The main problem is that the battery doesn't get nearly the same battery life as the original Nintendo battery. The Nintendo battery would get about 4 hours on a full charge while this battery gets about 2 hours max.

I picked this up to replace the battery in my 3DS that was swelling. Installation was simple enough; it fit perfect. I charged it up and gave it a go. After a little bit of play, the battery seemed to be depleting faster than I remember. The 3DS isn't exactly known for its excellent battery life, but I was looking to hopefully get something close to the 3.5hrs I originally got. I did an experiment where I left the console on the Donkey Kong Country Returns title screen, full brightness, power saver off, no 3D to see how long this thing really lasts. 1 hour and 25 minutes is all I got. Less than half the life I got when I pulled the system out of the box. This is definitely safer than using a swelling, clearly bad battery, but I'm not getting much out of this. Only bother if you have no other option. You're probably better off poaching an official battery out of a broken 3DS.

I got this thinking it was for the new 3DS XL model, but the mattery was smaller than what I needed. However, I managed to keep the battery in place and it has worked marvelously. So unless you want to McGuivere your battery into staying in place, do not get this model for the New 3DS XL models. This is the pack made for original 3ds systems and the WiiU controller. I got this because I have a original 3DS in a metallic pink color. It just needed a new battery. It worked fine. I did have trouble with the screwdriver so I also got a eyeglasses screwdriver. However, it was able to work just fine after googling some YouTube videos I was able to fix my old 3DS.

The battery life lasts for 2-3 hours and is capable of exploding, leaking hazardous liquid. A disaster waiting to happen. If you’re not from US or Canada, you are better off asking for a friend there to order and ship you an official battery from Nintendo’s online store. If nothing else, buy a brand new cheap 2DS and use its battery if neccessary.

Fácil de instalar. La compré para sustituir la batería que viene de fábrica para la 2DS XL de mi hijo y en un minuto estaba disfrutando de su consola de nuevo. Muy contentos y dura más que la original. Recomendable 100%.

J'ai reçu cette batterie. Je l'ai installée sans problème. J'ai fait sur 3 jours les cycles de charge complete pendant 12H puis décharge complète (machine en marche, écran ouvert, jusqu'à l'arrêt complet). Malgré cela, la batterie ne tient que 2h en fonctionnement... bien moins que la batterie d'origine... et, vu qu'elle est censée avoir une capacité plus grande (2000mAH alors que l'originale en fait 1300) c'est particulièrement mauvais.
