Can you adjust the brightness level while in the 24/7 mode?

I want to add to the answer. A good option for led lights that are too bright and can't be adjusted is to use window tint. Believe me it works and is easy to do.

when using the 24/7 mode at a certain time, will the light be left flashing or must it be pressed again to turn off?

The 24/7 mode is "Set once and never touch anything again", it will turn itself on at the same set time every day, do its ramp up then down cycle, turn itself off completely, Light will not flash, you need not press anything again. Then next day it repeats itself exactly. I set my 24/7 mode 3 months ago, and I have not touch it again.

Is easy to make your own mounting parts just need plexiglass and glue.

Have a 35 gal hex tank. 24 inch deep. 18 inch across. Would the 18 to 24 inch give enough light for bottom plants to grow?

I’m not certain. It depends on how deep the tank is and what light requirements (i.e. low light, moderate light, etc.)…. I used two lamps but got algae problems. One light is ok but only for plants with low light requirements and some moderate light requirements….. my tank is 19 inches tall.
