Whispers of His Power

I love this book. Short, little devotionals that help you think about big theological concepts in the day. For instance, on April 1st, Amy writes about taking a verse in scripture and writing the opposite to see just how big God's truths are. My kids picked "God so loved the world that he gave his only son" so instead we said "For Satan so hated the world that he stole from us the truth of Jesus"...you can pick other verses to do this with, but that short devotional was a great way for me and my kids to view God's word. Amy Carmichael knows suffering and pain and going through these devotionals every day has helped me in my walk with God. The way she views the Bible and God is simply lovely and I am thankful that in this day and age, I can read what she wrote 100 or more years ago going through different trials and circumstances, but loving the same God. In the midst of a crisis of my own faith, this book has brought me to a deeper love for God. I don't have time to read lengthy theological books about suffering and faith. This book was just what I needed. I pray it helps you too.

One of the best devotional books out there. Each day's message started out as a little note to one of the author's orphanage children. After she passed away, they compiled the notes they had been given and this is the result. Personal nuggets of gold from God's heart to ours.

The devotional from Amy Carmichael, Whispers of His Power, is a favorite of mine.Its not long but speaks to my heart in love. The words are gentle and cause me to make changes in my life. Therefore I have power to love as in I Cor 13.I recommend this to someone whose been burned out, hurt and loves God a real lot.

Read it everyday. Have told others about it and bought extras to give to others. Would recommend it to anyone for a daily devotional.

These daily devos are even more meaningful when you learn about her life of service and personal sacrifice. This is a keeper.

You will enjoy the richness of these devotionals. Has encouraged me and helped me press on in my Christian walk.
