Easy to install if you pay attention to the details
I chose the Rubbermaid Fast Track system after looking at several other incomplete displays of competing track systems at a local big box store. The Rubbermaid system looked to be the sturdiest, as well as the most complete, and of course Rubbermaid is a brand that you can trust to be around in a year when you’re looking to expand your rack. It’s easy to install, too, IF you pay attention to the small details.Detail #1: The metal track and the plastic cover are NOT symmetrical! Look closely before you slide the cover off the track. The upper flange of the metal track is slightly longer than the lower flange, and if you mount it upside down, it’ll be extremely difficult to get the cover on. Make sure that longer edge is mounted UP.Detail #2: The plastic cover MUST be mounted right side up, or you’ll never get it on. The upper edge wraps around the metal track, but the bottom edge is shorter, so it can snap over the rail. Happily there's a Rubbermaid logo printed on the cover to help you get this right.Detail #3: The holes in the rail may not line up with the studs in your garage. I found it necessary to screw some short lengths of 2x4 alongside three of the existing studs in order to provide secure anchors at every stud. (See photo)Detail #4: Do NOT buy the Rubbermaid mounting kit. The screws provided are garbage. Instead, buy a box of deck screws. To do the job right you’ll need a drill/driver or (preferably) an impact driver. Don’t try to attach the screws by hand. You should also drill 1/8th inch pilot holes, even for “self drilling” screws, especially if your house was built before WWII. Older garages were built with wood that’s a lot harder than the typical SPF framing lumber used today. You’ll also need a level to do the job right. Figure out what height you want to install the rail and make a mark there. Rubbermaid recommends 4’ or 7’3”, but I installed mine at 6’ after experimenting with the tools I planned on hanging. Install the rack with one screw, check the level, and install the next. Check level again, and if everything looks good, install the rest of the screws. If you put the rail in correctly, the cover will easily snap on. Hook the top edge and give the lower edge a sharp rap with the heel of your palm or a rubber mallet.

Quality products and very reasonable prices. Install them solidly and enjoy a new level of garage organization.
Main tip here is to mount the metal bracket into studs. I know that might seem obvious to some, but it comes with wall anchors and screws. If you plan on really using this, such as with the bike rack hook and to hang anything on it and not see it on the floor of your garage in the morning -- use more heavy duty screws and place them at every stud you can get it to cross. Also recommend an investment in a good quality stud finder. I used to have a cheap one and drilled holes all over walls because it wasn't accurate. A more expensive stud finder is perfect for something like this, very accurate and helps you screw directly into the middle of a stud. Solid install of the metal bar, slide on the Rubbermaid plastic cover and start adding accessory hangers. These are great products and help you organize your garage in a very cost-effective manner. Get things up off the floor, it's a great feeling to have more floor space and see things organized and easy to access. I'd highly recommend these products.

Excellent solution
I wish I had switched to this years ago. It is so simple to install and the attachments are so easy to attach.

Works great, very sturdy
Currently using this to store a bunch of garden tools and some outdoor power tools. It has held up great and I love how customizable it can be. It's holding up at least 30-40lbs without any issues in the past several months.

#1 in my book for most applications
This fast track garage stuff is great. It looks clean, it's easy to install. It's versatile and it's sturdy. I have my bikes hanging on one, my shovels, brooms, and what not on another, hoses, ladders, saws, weed eater, bike trailer, stroller, all sorts of hand tools hanging up, easy to find, and off the ground. I opted to build my own shelves though, as it seems to me that the shelf and bin attachments they sell are less that adequate and I can build larger, sturdier, shelves for much less with some heavy duty brackets from Lowes and some pine wood. Garage is much more organized and it feels great. (pictures were before I finished installing two rows of these which made a huge difference in the amount of stuff I was able to organize)

Sturdy, Easy to Install, two minor issues
I bought a number of Rubbermaid FastTrack system pieces to help organize my garage. This kit contained a number of useful hooks and was a better value than buying them piecemeal at a hardware store. Installing the FastTrack system is very easy if you have exposed studs. Simply run a level along the studs at the height required and then use wood screws at every stud. With a wood screw every sixteen inches, I have no issues hanging full size mountain bikes at intervals along the track.A few cons:1) the plastic covers for the tracks slide freely to the sides. You cannot fix them in place unless you glue them and then they're stuck in place. Rubbermaid should remedy this by providing a means to clamp them in a fixed position.2) the rails come in sizes that don't play perfectly with 16" stud increments. You always wend up with an end of the track hanging over the edge of the stud. Also, they don't have a means of connecting two adjoining rails to make a continuous run of track. You can butt the two edges together and it works, but they've provided no means to connect them with hardware for added stability and strength. Those two issues aside, the FastTrack system works great and has freed up a lot of space in my garage. With our bikes, rakes, shovels, and other miscellaneous items mounted off the garage floor, it makes the area feel more spacious and allows us to park two cars inside without it feeling cramped.
