Kendall/Covidien Telfa Non Adherent Pad Prepack, 50 Count

I just bought/received/opened and began using my 2nd box. The first purchase was about a year and a half ago, to cover forearms burned during radiation treatments. I'm using this 2nd box to cover small (treated) skin cancers and one large (ulcerated) skin cancer. True to the Telfa characteristic, they don't stick to the wound! This size is perfect too! You can cut the pads to any length, and save the remainder for another time... and they don't fall apart! I doubt I'll ever buy a smaller sized Telfa pad again!

I was very surprised when the product arrived in an unsealed box. The product seemed to be intact but why would medical supplies be sold to consumers in this manner? My suspicion is the product comes in open boxes because it is typically sold to hospitals in bulk where the integrity of the product is based on the entire case being sealed. If a hospital were buying a large case, having individual boxes be left open would be very convenient. As an individual buying a single box, I am uncomfortable with this packaging. The product itself is good. I prefer Tefla products over the similar dressings by Johnson and Johnson.

These are great! I tried other brands that were less expensive because I had to use 4 pads a day for 3 months. The other brands fell apart and did not have as much cushion!

These are great for wound care. Very thin material isn't as absorbent as I'd like, but their large size covers more area which was great for my severe case of poison ivy that spread all over my legs with blisters and weeping sores. This box of 50 was plenty for more than a week's worth of twice daily bandaging changes.
