Good for the price but not amazing.
I'd have like to give this 3.5 stars because it's so cheap, but 4 is too many. Read on!At the price there isn't much competition, but this is pretty bargain basement stuff. The controller is this plain black box that tethers to a motor and you attach a battery to - it's basic to say the least, with a not very easy to use control stick. You also don't get enough belt (you cut it yourself to size) to replace if it breaks, so you just have this ¾ length piece lying around.Like I say, the user interface is absolutely bog-standard, a tiny calculator like screen, like something made in a college science class. it does the job after some playing around but you will need to practice until you get it right. Also you need to add some kind of tripod head to position your camera on it. I got a very small, light ball head (Andoer TB81X) that does the job but even with that and a DSLR it starts to struggle with anything other than a prime or light zoom lens at anything other than 90 degrees. Tilting down will start to cause you problems with vibration etc.I've used this a couple of times on interviews and you can leave it running. Just remember you need a light DSLR and have to be pointing parallel to your subject.I guess with a very light lens like a pancake 24mm or 50mm it will be fine. Not amazing and I'll probably upgrade one day. In the meantime it just about does the job. If your budget is restricted or you don't need one very often then by all means go for it and live with the downsides - otherwise there are far better options if you can afford them.
