Great feel, keeps you warm/cool, doesn't smell, but could maybe last a little longer.
I bought these to wear as a base layer for a number of purposes:1) motorcycling (under my riding pants)2) cold weather, under jeans3) under ski pantsThey perform pretty well for all these uses. I wore them on the motorcycle in cold and hot weather. Under a pair of mesh pants, they wicked sweat away very well keeping me cool, and in cold weather they kept me warm enough without being too warm. They're very comfortable, and don't itch as one might think wool would. Though, I would recommend running them through the wash before wearing to soften it up a little. They are machine washable and dryable. As for construction, they held up pretty good, considering I wore them on a just about daily basis for the last ~10 months (putting them on/taking them off twice a day for my commute to work on the bike). The last month or so they started developing tears/runs in the knees and calves (where they tend to rub), so I just purchased another pair to replace them.I would wash these about every week or so, and they never really smelled that bad. The wool did a great job at not giving bacteria a place to live. All in all, I would (and just did) buy these again. If you're doing really cold-weather expeditions, you might want to get the medium weight equivalents from Minus33, but these work well in both warm and cold weather.

great base layer
I've never been disappointed with Minus 33. The lightweight bottom is a great baselayer for high activity in colder weather. It wicks well, soft, and is warm. Great for hiking in 20 to 30 degrees. It does not retain odors, so you can go longer between changing. As far as durability goes will have to wait, as only worn the medium wt.,expedition wt. beanie, socks. if the lightweight lasts like the others, can't go wrong.

Comfortable, good indoor/outdoor thermal qualities, but not long lasting
After some research, I purchased this for working indoor/outdoor security patrols. My intent was to find a baselayer that would keep me from freezing while outdoors in New England winters for short periods of time, without causing me to be uncomfortable or smelly while spending lengths of time indoors.I found the material to be softer to the touch than I anticipated and comfortable, although the thinness of the garment detracts from its ability to provide a padded quality that thicker merino wool exhibits. I am 6' tall with a 29" waist and purchased a size medium, and I found that the waistband was not too tight or too loose, with the inseam length adequate edging on shorter than I would prefer. I liked the tight fit. Construction was simple but solid, with no problems with any stitching coming undone during the life of the garment. Thermal qualities were just what I was looking for, with the layer being reasonably comfortable during extended time indoors and providing some protection while outdoors in cold weather. That's not minimize the impact of the layer - the protection is the difference between feeling freezing vs doing OK when you first step out into the cold; however I would expect to eventually feel freezing if I were to remain in below freezing temps for an hour+ without physical activity. My research indicated natural wool fibers have antimicrobial qualities that prevent odor so long as the garment does not become completely waterlogged, and this was represented in my experience with the garment as I never once had a problem with odor despite sometimes wearing it 5 days in a row between washes (with daily showering).I did not find this garment to be long lasting, however. At the time I purchased this I was very poor, and I had just one of these as my only bottom baselayer for an entire winter. After 1-1.5 winters, I found the merino wool material wearing out, with areas of wool thinned out like sheer fabric and holes developing across the entire garment. After the second winter, it went into the trash. I believe this may be a natural, inevitable consequence of having such thin 100% merino wool, and not any other flaw in the design or construction. Prospective buyers should be aware of the short lifespan, and those that do purchase this garment should consider taking measures to reduce wear. I would consider buying again if I thought I could afford to continue replacing it every other year, as its properties were otherwise excellent.-Compared to Under Armour compression fit Coldgear leggings, I found this garment to be more comfortable, more breathable, more comfortable indoors, have a lighter presence on my legs, have better odor resistance and that it gives you its warmth as you stand still. UA Coldgear leggings, by comparison, feel uncomfortably hot in warm temps and make me prone to feeling like I'm sweating when exposed to very warm temps, develop noticeable odor after two to three wears, and fail to provide ample warmth when not engaged in physical activity. However, my UA Coldgear leggings have shown to be significantly more durable (going on 5 years with little visible wear) and excellent for sustained outdoor physical activity in cold weather (such as running), whereas I would never consider wearing wool for rigorous or sustained physical activity as wool absorbs sweat rather than wicking it away and loses its positive qualities once waterlogged.

Why isn't everyone wearing 100% wool?
I like these leggings. I'm a size 34-35 waist and bought an XL. It fits just right. I wish they made a less tapered version too. I use this as long underwear. I like most that these bottoms are made out of an 100% natural fabric and not a toxic synthetic fiber. I find that synthetic fibers, even 2% elastaine, negatively effects my mood and makes me feel constricted. 100% natural fabrics. (Wool, Cotton, Silk, Linen, Hemp) Wool is my favorite in that it doesn't hold odor, is breathable, and again doesn't hold odor through antibacterial qualities.

Top quality product
You absolutely have to size up with these bottoms, even consider sizing up twice. Otherwise, they're definitely a top quality item. This item, covered by a lightweight waterproof shell, kept me warm while hiking down to 20 degrees. In camp, yes at 20 degrees and colder, I'd have to add the Minus33 mid-weight product, and was definitely good to zero degrees (and below) having both on. I'm glad I spent the money on these. Also, very great to have the fly access cut large, so when reaching in with your hand you don't have to be so exact as to where the opening is: you'll find it. And the fly opening is cut and sewn and overlaps so that no way will wind penetrate through the fly opening. Very well designed.I'll add also to hand wash and line dry these bottoms, or at least wash on delicate cycle and tumble dry low until almost dry. One of my buddies sent them to the laundromat and that was the end of his merino wool gear.

I purchased these for winter of 2013 and I live in Michigan (polar vortex can suck it). I work as a mobile x-ray tech so its important for me to stay warm while unloading equipment, but not to have on too much because when I go into homes they usually have the heat set on Hell. I wear these under my scrubs with a long sleeved top a scrub top and a light jacket or a hoodie. Only on the coldest days was a chilled but for the most part I stayed warm, I didnt sweat, and I was able to regulate my heat easily while in a home and not freeze as soon as I stepped outside. I intend to buy a top for this winter and I should be fine.

Satisfied Customer
My son wears these outdoors for running or other winter activities and these keep him warm and dry. They’re lightweight and he wears his running shorts on top with no worries about itching. I love how effective they are in absorbing sweat and odour so I don’t have to wash after every single time they’ve been used.

Love Minus33 merino wool.
I won't be using these until the fall but being a fan of merino wool products, I know I won't be disappointed. The fit is pretty exact. If you are unsure of your size, go to Minus33 website and they have a size guide there. Minus33 merino wool is supersoft, not itchy at all and the pricing is good for a superior product.
