Compact and User Friendly
Recently we were without power for a number of hours, and decided to give our newly purchased stove a go, it did not disappoint. We were looking for a light, compact, easily packable stove that would burn common branches that could be found anywhere, campmax was chosen over other stoves because of it's one piece construction. It was easy to light with just the minimal amount of tinder (newspaper/small twigs), once started we just needed to supply the sticks. The construction is solid, and steady once the base grate was emplaced in its brackets. As the fire matured, it burned very clean, and created a nice bed of coals. We used a 8" iron skillet weighting about 12 lbs, and a steel pot at roughly the same weight, and experienced no rocking or bending of the stove. After use and cooled I didn't notice any warpage of the stove and it went right back into the provided pouch. We were also delighted at how quickly the heat dissipated and allowed me to pack it up in short order. If you are looking to cook a 3 course meal on a camp stove, campmax isn't for you. This stove is strictly a packable stove, that will not take up room in your backpack, or your get home bag, and it worked as advertised. I think my next test will be how it can handle a cast iron dutch oven.

Too heavy for hiking, but perfect for camping!
Its a little bigger and heavier than I thought it'd be, so I think I'll buy the smaller one as well. I still really like it! It's perfect for camping, too heavy to haul on hikes though. If you're thinking of buying one, I'd do it now before the price goes up, it's totally worth it!

Durability questionable
Protective blue film mentioned was missing. Some scratches on the steel plates. No instructions so I had to come back to Amazon to view the slide pictures to understand how to set it up. The carrying bag is not really durable. The sharp corners will easily tear the bag. Even if careful putting the stove into and removing it from the bag, I suspect the sharp corners will tear the bag after one or two uses or even just carrying it a distance. I like that you can use it with sticks, leaves or whatever you find. Five pounds is a little cumbersome, similar to carrying a five-pound bag of potatoes. There are sections that I doubt will withstand many cook fires. I haven't decided whether to return it, even though I bought it in case of emergency. It's stainless steel, but I think it will rust. Not a terrible product for a short term emergency. I just question whether it will still be good after four or five uses. I haven't tried actually using it yet, because I'm deciding if I should return it. You might be more satisfied than I am.

Purchased new, was sent used
Purchased new, they sent a used one with blue film ripped out and minor scratches where the tray slides in. Disappointed. The stove is very easy to assemble and disassemble. Haven't used it yet to know how good it burns wood for cooking.
