Do these work well for chins and pulldowns?

I primarily use these straps for dead lifts and rows. They work great and allow me to train well beyond my hand strength. I have used them for pull downs, but never chin ups. I would imagine they would work fine as long as the bar is low enough to get them wrapped properly. If you have to jump up to the bar you won't be able to get them on unless you used a stool or chair.

What is the velcro tab at the end of the strap for? I would just expect to wrap it around the bar, except it's a scratchy piece of velro.

The velcro tab is to secure the strap to the wrist portion of the strap between sets. It's helpful because the strap doesn't get in the way as you change out weights or do super sets with another exercise.

Can this 1000pls power lifting straps be use for wrist support? 1000pls power lifting strap = 1100ws wrist supports + strap?

These aren't made to support the wrist. However, depending on where it's placed on the wrist, there would be some minor support. But If you're needing wrist support for lifting, this isn't the answer. I strongly recommend wrist wraps. There are many different lengths to choose from based on how you lift.
