Doctor's Best Best Benfotiamine 150 + Alpha-Lipoic Acid 300 60 VCaps

I’m very surprised to write that this stuff actually works. I had a DVT in my left leg, last year and it’s been a long time healing. The leg, ankle and foot were swelled up like a balloon. I could barely get around on it. Anyhow, I ended up at the ER and was given a scrip for Eliquis, in lieu of the usual “rat poison” that they give out for a DVT. The Eliquis worked on my leg and ankle and the swelling and pain went down quite a bit, over a period of months, but my foot never really followed along. The swelling subsided, but it retained a lot of pain and numbness.I saw a video on YouTube about Benfotiamine and just took a chance on it. It took maybe a week to notice any difference at all and after a month, there was a significant difference in pain and numbness in the foot. It worked! I can sleep again, without feeling shooting pain in the top of my foot and the toes and I have almost normal feeling in my whole foot. It’s way better.

Dr Eric Berg did a You Tube video on Vitamin. B1. He explained that if you eat too many Carbs it depletes the B1 in your body. That is bad since B1 helps to curb your appetite and gives you so much energy and helps metabolize carbs. He recommended getting a Benfotiamine product since it has some fat in it that helps it cross the Blood Brain Barrier of our Brain to do its job as mentioned above. I've even lost a few pounds. I chose Doctors Best since I'm familiar with their products. This product is Great for those with a Sweet tooth that doesn't quit. My weakness was ice cream. I could not pass it up. Now I can pass the freezer and don't even want the ice cream. Try it you will like it too.

Not sure how well it's working yet. I find it weird though that it's suggested elsewhere to take benfotiamine with food and alpha lipoic acid on an empty stomach. So since these are combined which way would be best? I've tried it in the middle after eating something real small. Any way I take it I get a tiny upset stomach. Like it's irritated, not really pain. I think it works for blood sugar though, maybe too well for me, because I find myself hungrier on days I take it. Can't really say what it's done for my hand pain because I'm also taking turmeric daily.

I've had some pre-diabetic neuropathy in my toes for several years and my very trusted family doc said there really wasn't much they could do about it. I am a former athlete and still stay in pretty decent shape, but I have not been able to scrunch toes down, but not raise them up, separate them, or raise up on my toes for a couple of years. Because of this, it can also be very painful to stoop down or get off the floor without support. You don't know how much toes mean till they don't work correctly. Online sources say about the same thing, that it can't really be reversed. So when I heard about Benfotiamine mixed with Alpha-Lipoic Acid, I wasn't all that hopeful. But it's a more digestible B1 [thiamine], so no sense not trying.The results after a week are astounding. I'd say the nerve pain has been cut by at least a half and I can move my toes in any direction. I still can't raise up on the toes, but I think that is potentially more about muscle loss and not doing it for so long than anything. So far I'm seeing daily improvements and am hopeful that it continues. As far as dosage, I started at 1 a day but increased to 2 per day, 1 in the morning and 1 at dinner.To this point I haven't seen any side effects or stomach issues that a few others have noted. Every body is different.
