Signs of Damage to the Bags after Filling Them with Gravel
These bags are probably fine with media that are smooth. I use the media bags for housing the gravel (the type that you can buy at the home improvement center) that I put in my BOG filter. After adding the gravel to about 80% full, and rinsing them with water before placing them in the filter, I noticed that there are signs of some bags being torn slightly. I also ordered smaller bags for the same purpose, and those small ones are stiffer but do not get torn.

No broken zippers or holes. Used for beneficial bacteria media.
I have used these bags for everything. Beneficial bacteria media, charcoal, ammonia media and pretty much whatever I need a bag for. I have not experienced any broken zippers or holes as of writing this review. I have only used bags once for media, but media is still in bags and intact. I have repeatedly used bags over and over for charcoal and ammonia remover media.

These were just what I was looking for!
I needed larger capacity media bags for larger aquarium sumps for activated carbon, etc. The normal little bags with drawstring ends just don't cut it for larger applications. These are a good size and very well made. I look forward to getting a lot of use out of them.
