We used this urn for a burial at sea for my daughter. She passed away on June 17, 2020, and one year later, we decided she would be at peace in the ocean (She LOVED the beach). The urn is very sturdy, easy to open and close, and contains the biodegradable plastic bag (with instructions) for the ashes. You can tie raffia or other biodegradable ribbon around the urn and add fresh or dried flowers to make it more personalized. We used bright pink Oleander flowers, which grow around the resort we always visited as a family.As far as the size - YES it will fit an adult. Emily Rose was 120 lbs (age 23). Also, there was enough room to include a few trinkets (biodegradable, of course). We included some dried rose petals, a butterfly made from feathers, a starfish, and some clipped fur from her favorite cat.The urn was gently placed into the ocean, floated (with some rose petals we set into the water around her), floated around 20 minutes, then gently sank. It was a perfect send-off for my girl who loved riding the waves.

I've purchased 2 of these by now---love the biodegradable inner bag and the handmade appearance of the outer container.I especially like that it does not look like an urn.We have laid my MIL and her sister to rest in SF BAy and Puget Sound. Both float for about 5 minutes, then peacefully sink.**tip--loosely tie (ie--not 'airtight') otherwise the urn will float for a very long time!

This biodegradable urn arrived on time as promised. The quality is excellent. It is strong but has a lightness and grace. The color purple is very pretty. We used it for my daughter’s ashes, it floated momentarily and gently left our view. I would give it 5 stars had the liner not been missing. I contacted the company directly and a replacement liner was rushed to me. The woman who handled that was very sensitive to the situation and immediately remedied it. I would purchase again.

I Didn't have the opportunity to use this as purchased as the US Navy was able to provide our dad with a hero's "Military memorial/burial at sea" service. Back to the product. It appeared to be exactly what we had ordered (color, shape, size and easy to follow instructions for placement of the remains inside of this vessel). I can't vouch for the water activated 5 minute decomposing of the item once placed at sea, but I'm sure it was everything they said it would be. It was described perfectly, shipped quickly although it was a tad pricey, Amazon refunded our money without hesitation as is their standard practice. A++ rating

I was worried when I ordered this about the quality but it turned out to be perfect. Firm, held up as described. Floated awhile before sinking.

I bought this for my brother’s ash burial at sea. It was perfect. Looked beautiful and elegant. I am very happy with the product.

It doesn't "..floats briefly (under 5 minutes) and then gently sinks.." as claimed. After +15 minutes the urn showed no indication of breaking down and was still drifting as the current and wind carried it back toward shore. We had to retrieve the urn and spread the ashes by hand.

Perfect for dignified water burial. Worked as well as described.
