I can't answer your question. I have a 2014 328i. But as the months pass my Bovee WMA3000B has become flakier and flakier. There is some interaction from the car audio system through the device to my iPhone 7, so that, for example, starting the car resumes playback of whatever was playing on my iPhone 7 when I turned the car off, muting the BMW audio system pauses playback on my iPhone, as does switching from the iPhone as an audio source to the car's AM/FM radio. All this is nice. But as the months go by I am having goofy playback issues using the Bovee WMA3000B. For example, I start playing a podcast, and then after a moment the music app on the iPhone switches in abruptly playing some random song and the podcast pauses. This often requires two or three or more times correcting it, with me switching to my desired app on the phone, before the correction "takes" and my chosen playback continues without interruption from the Music app. This problem was the same under IOS 10 and IOS 11. It is flaky enough that I am looking for another bluetooth audio solution.

I have a bmw 2007 329i with idrive. i assume that this will work for my system as well?? does this allow song trac brocast on the idrive screen?

For iOS. Make sure you have Apple music installed on your phone, even if you are using Spotify or other app. Without Apple music installed, music info and track control will not work for Spotify and other music apps. It took me a very long time to figure that out!
