Works as intended
These are very nice latches that seem strong and sturdy. I installed these on my john boat to secure the storage areas. These were not too hard to install. I would buy again.

Heavy duty latches
I purchased these hatch latches to replace the original plastic version that my boat came with. After replacing a couple as they broke I found these metal ones and purchased enough to change out all of them at once. A nice upgrade assuming they hold up to the salt water

Seems like a quality product
I wanted to upgrade my pontoon boat latches to locking latches. I can say the measurements in the description were very accurate. Notice in my first picture, the bolts for these latches are much bigger and are better quality. I replaced two latches and one was perfect. The latch is tight and does not rattle when moving down the lake. The second latch seems to be loose and has some 'dead space' between opening the latch and the latch catches. This seems to cause the latch to rattle when the boat is moving. I've tried tightening the bolts but it has no effect on the actual latch looseness. I don't have this issue with latch #1 but I do with #2. So I rated 4 stars instead of 5.

won't last in saltwater
The return window for these is only one month. I've had mine on my boat in salt water for exactly one month and they all stick closed and have to be payed open with a pair of pliers. Buy more expensive latches. These won't last!

These are a nice upgrade on the boat from the plastic ones. Sturdy and easy to install and looks good.

Fits with modifications
First it didn’t fit with 3/4” plywood but you can install longer bolts which are just metric m5 bolts. They fit great & work super well. Very happy with this purchase. I will definitely buy more in the future

DO NOT PURCHASE
OEM parts for this latch run from $50-$100 each. When I saw this 2 pack for half that price I figured how bad could they be? ANSWER: A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. the lock broke out of the SECOND one I installed LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AFTER INSTALLATION. i'm talking maybe five uses of the hatch lock itself. and thats the second of the two purchased. THIS IS NOT WORTH ANY MONEY AT ALL. on this product you have to suckitup and pay the piper on the better name at a local boat shop. sorry - hope it saves at least one person the trouble.

Much better than the cheap plastic one that didn't last a year.
Fit and finish is top notch. Had to grind the catch tab down a bit to get it to latch properly, but after that it works perfectly. One good push and it's solidly latched. Don't have a use for the 2nd one right now, but will keep it as a spare anyway.
