Question 1

How is the battery life on this device? I expect to only be able to physically access it every 90 days and want to make sure it will work.

Hello Courtney -

I recently purchased 80 of these locks.  My best advice is this...  premium batteries = best results.  We tried using Amazon batteries to begin with however there is no way of physically seeing the expiration date / life date prior to making the purchase so... our batteries are expiring quickly.  As we have started to replace them we have switched to a very expensive very high end long life battery with MUCH better results.

Keep this in mind, even if your batteries die you can access the lock with a 9V batterie externally.  There are two metal spots on the bottom of the lock, hold the 9V conductive points to those metal spots (not particular direction) and start the process of entering your code.  It works easier with 2 people but can be done alone.  Also easier if you send someone with you a Bluetooth key.

So, you can actually never be locked out!

This company is extremely responsive and has a great customer service department who will stay on the phone with you and walk you through the process.

How can I grant access or change the igloohome lockbox code from "around the world" without wifi?  Bluetooth is limited to direct line of sight.

You can absolutely grant pin codes for access remotely from anywhere in the world to anywhere in the world without any Bluetooth, wifi, or cellular connectivity. We have a proprietary algorithm embedded in each of our locks that enables the user to grant access.

Granting access remotely is what makes Igloohome perfect for Airbnb and managing your properties remotely. Simply create a new PIN in your Igloohome App, and the PIN will immediately work on the lock, no matter where on Planet Earth you are!

As for the Bluetooth function in our lock which is also available, you are correct in that Bluetooth is limited to line of sight, so revoking a PIN does require you to be within Bluetooth connection of the lock, as this functionality requires Bluetooth connection, so do be wary of issuing Permanent PINs remotely.

Old question but the current answer is wrong and the world should know. This device DOES NOT use wifi. It only uses Bluetooth and you can only sync the device when near it. With that said, it uses the same encryption used for one time passwords (OTP) that websites use. It utilizes an algorithm to generate new passwords from anywhere, at any time, based on whatever rules you want (1 hour, 2 days, permanent). It’s more complicated to explain than that, but basically you can generate passwords with rules, remotely, without any connection to the device itself. You are unable to revoke passwords or check status of the device though, without being near to the device to sync up with it.
