FANGS, Volume 1

The bar for "good" BL has been on the floor for me for quite some time. Every series I read either had coercion or just flat out SA which really grosses me out. I bought this series blindly - only going off of the cover art. I was worried it might be iffy, but I was pleasantly suprised when I read it. The two main characters have a really nice dynamic and the art style is absolutely incredible. I always love finding a series where the cover art matches the art in the series (seeing as cover art is usually better and more detailed, understandably so). The story is interesting, but honestly it's very similar to "Hell & High Water" i.e. Follows a Non-human organization made to protect the peace between NHs and Humans. One of the top dogs at said organization is interested in a rookie. Cold stern black haired guy x goofy somewhat timid blonde haired guy. Obviously they're not identical, but if you enjoy one series then you'll like the other. Other than that the summary given on the volume pretty much sums up the plot. If you like adult characters, vampires, cheesy sickly sweet romance, and good art, then definitely check this one out. It's completely non-con free and every character is an adult. On a side note, every BL I've read published by TokyoPop has been amazing. I honestly might just start buying BL exclusively from them, great titles thus far.

I’m new to the BL manga scene and saw this book with cool art and a ton of 5/5 star reviews. I try to do my research before buying something as I want it to be worth it. I’m a sucker for a good vampire romance and boy did this exceed my expectations. The author does an amazing job with the art, expressions, humor , romance , and relatability of the characters. I love their dynamic and how the semi Itchi, respects and genuinely care so much for En and vice versa. Definitely have the second volume on hand because you won’t be able to put it down. The pacing is really nice, nothing crazy happens at the same time you love the development of their relationship as itchi is there for En with new vampire life. Sometimes you don’t need crazy villains and plots. The 3rd volume is starting to stir up something big and I am super excited for it !! I hope it comes out soon. But I can’t give the author/artist enough praise. Every thing is done so delicately and beautifully and you fall in love with the kindness and vulnerability of the characters. The author really thought about the ready. Absolutely incredible

To start off this is an erotic homosexual manga. So it's good to know that. This is the first book in the series and it's in English and it reads back to front. It starts off a little bit confusing but you soon catch on to what's going on. I don't want to give the story away but basically most vampires are trying to live peacefully and they have their own community system and police force in order to enforce this. They pair up with other single vampires and feed from one another in order to avoid murdering humans and of course this gets sexual. I like the artwork because it's clear and easy to see what's going on. The panels have the correct amount of shading and lines without it being too dark. Manga can really get ruined when the visuals are so dark you can't tell what's going on. There are some close-ups but you can still easily follow what's going on without getting confused at what you're looking at. The artwork is also nice enough that you can actually tell one character from another. Personally I always hate it when all the characters look exactly the same especially when it's in black and white so you can't see the hair color but this one's pretty easily distinguishable. If you like boy love manga this is definitely a good one. It is a neurotic manga but of course they blower things out or they use convenient light strips or whatever as usual and it does have an actual plot to it as well. And for those of you who like the core it does appear that there's going to be some of that in this series although there's only two books out so far so we've yet to see. I actually thought that this was only a two book of series because I researched it before purchasing and it said that they were only two books and it was complete but the second one is left on a cliffhanger so I'm assuming there's going to be a third one. Also when I went to the actual author's page it said that they were continuing it but it was very conflicting information so I hope they continue this series.

I throughly enjoyed this manga. En was a cutie and so sweet ❤️. Wish I could've seen his transition from human to vampire a little more condensed and see how it really impacted him emotionally instead of him being just confused, but that's okay! Ichii was so cunning lol. He was a teaser, helped En through his vamp transition, kind, I almost fell heads over heels like En did haha. Hope we see more of his story in Vol. 2. I enjoyed the other character's story, too. There was one character, Sugi, who's story really almost got me crying ahh. I was feeling depressed after that haha. But honestly, this story was more slice-of-life and romance than drama or action like most vampires stories are. But I enjoyed it. If you're looking for something more action-packed, then it's probably in Volume 2 since there's a bit at the end that hints at a new enemy/conflict. There's romance, sex scenes, it's funny, the characters are relatable, it has everything I could ever need. 5 stars!

I bought this on a whim and was not disappointed. It’s well illustrated & well written. The spice is pretty good too. I’m off to purchase the next one!

Rewriting this because refreshed by accident💔 The cover is very smooth and feels nice, plus the colors are vibrant. The pages are all there and don’t have any misprints, nor blots. Also came with two beautiful pieces of art on the last page (before it advertises other mangas) They have lightsabers btw

As a fan of the BL manga The Titan's Bride, I decided to look up other recommended BL's and this series happened to be one of them. Let me just say this, money well spent. Even though the artist doesn't draw in detail the men's (you know what like in The Titan's Bride) you can still see it in "lightsaber" type form. However, everything is drawn in detail. I can't say it because this is Amazon. The characters are memorable and likeable. Also, the story is well paced. I already both the other two books and can't wait to read volume 2 when I get off of work later today.

Well, that escalated quickly. I honestly loved every second. The illustrations are great & the characters are incredibly easy to like.

I love it, it's more to do with learning how to adapt to a new way of life, with the help of the vampire support group fangs. What happens if you had a family when bitten, or no longer want to live forever. These situations are all dealt with in this book. It's funny & sad at the same time, but most of all it's a good story so far.

As far as I can see the quality is good.
